its all about variety, throw in some 2 step, dubstep, grime, house, into a mix. As long as it sounds good and gets people moving then play it!

Should be said that MTV UK does a much better job covering this over the years. That "About To Blow : MTV UK " documentary was good. On the other hand, MTV USA earns the award for the most facepalming articles on electronica ever written.

MTV lost its underground edge years ago.

I stopped caring when it started turning into a less camp version of Perez Hilton, and I would enjoy stamping on that stnuc face for sure.

in terms of the feedback youre getting dude, i dont think what you're seeing is dubstep fans not appreciating grime influence

what you're seeing is backlash at another uninformed bullshit ridden faggoty MTV article written about dubstep that completely misses the point of the music and was written by an outsider. not sure if you are im jus sayin

Not to mention it's very annoying.
Please enlighten me. What is the 'point' in dubstep?
The point in dubstep is so you can quote me and ask stupid questions.

My point was that a lot of the early dubstep was like instrumental grime beats, an instrumental grime beat with vox over the top is grime. Therefore it defeats the purpose of the instrumental.

I'm not saying Dubstep doesn't need mc's or whatever, just not constant spitting, because that is shit.

Fuckin hell

first of all...MTV needs 2 fuck off....hwo abotu supporting something from the get go huh?...y does every1 want grime mc's 2 spit on dubstep.wots the point of a producer creating a track which in its own way is a voice..n then goin on 2 get a grime mc over it? talk about over-crowding...at the end of the day grime lacked the beats from the start...i remember when i showed some1 well known in the grime scene abotu dubstep in like 05...the response was..''why u listenin 2 that white boy music''...hmm ...now they want to chat on our beats??...fuck right off...end this thread please...it stinks :u:

Im all for the occasional Vocal over a GOOD Dubstep track

But let me add, there is SHIT LOADS of good Grime being produced now (Royal T, J Beatz, Jack Daniels, Mr Mitch, Teeza, Exo Remedy etc etc etc), so I would prefer if Mc's done research and found those sorta beats instead of vocalling a Dubstep track.

KMT, in my opinion the ONLY people who can take Grime fwd is the new breed of producers that are coming though, majority of Mc's right now would sell their soul for a single in the charts, so yeh.........
