everyone's talking about how overused it is, how anyone can recognise it straight away, and how funny it is that rusko used a preset in scareware, but if you really want it, its a preset in massive

Just wanted to see how massive it was. I'm kinda new to dubstep, come from mixing Dnb, no computer only vinyls, I'd like to understand how to get massive basslines and even if I think using presets is shit, it might help to understand how they're made. Dunno how to use cutoff, and LFO blablablabla, Rusko using it is crap because he's master producer, he shouldn't be that lazy but it will be easy for me to learn from something which is well done and practical than switching random buttons on and off til I get a nice sound that I won't know how to recreate and why the hell it's sounding great.

Btw thanks a lot for your answer.

everyones a noob in the beginning, but seriously never EVER make a tune using this preset. Skream used it in Refuel, which in my opinion absolutely slays, and anyone else using it to that degree is simply a cheap ripoff.

never EVER use it in tunes!!!

awww I won't, once I'll know how to get massive basslines I won't need it anymore, my aim is to create sound not to sample others one. If you want produce movies, you're gonna watch to tarantino's productions ( or whoever you like ), well that's it. But I still don't understand why world famous producers like rusko are reduced to use them. Shame ain't it?

Tarantino is shit. He just rips off loads of other people's movies constantly. Kill Bill's just pasting together scenes from movies I own essentially.

Brutal Electro is indeed a preset in Massive. Go ahead have a look for it but be warned. It's not only over used but it actually sounds shit anyway.

The song Scareware was made 2 years ago back when brutal electro patch was much fresher, still every producer uses patches. If your gonna use patches or make your own patch then craft it to fit the song, I don't really give much of shit whether producers uses patches or not as long as the music is good then its all good. 8)

start with basic synth sounds not shit like that...

u can write a tune using a juno preset and it will be fine...

some synth sounds are timeless, some are played the fuck out, and some just suck ape nipple.
