Thank you for posting this. I've been having a helluva time figuring out how to set my stuff up. You've just sparked a great idea.

But get that pc away from your speaker, that will fuck up your imaging so badly. It's bad enough having the speaker right next to the wall right there (trust me, cause I've got my speaker right next to the wall like that).

Someone hit you with a brick when you were young, huh? LCDs/LED screen, basically all flat panel technology, doesnt react to magnets. Its not our fault if youve never actually SEEN a flat panel, but, yeah, hes safe.

Built a new table for my gear yesturday

But get that pc away from your speaker, that will fuck up your imaging so badly. It's bad enough having the speaker right next to the wall right there (trust me, cause I've got my speaker right next to the wall like that).

Can you explain a bit more. Is it going to interfere a lot? Should i put the computer under the table?

Also I'm thinking about getting "Acoustic Wedge Foam Tiles" but dont know if they would make much difference. Room is rather rectangular with my bed, djing gear, couch, drawers in it as well and would have no clue where to put the tiles for the best result.

Any help on this?

Foam is a waste of money. Was hearing from studio owners that they put it up on the walls as decoration. Just deadens the high end freqs, without handling any of the real troublesome low end freqs.

Definitely move the computer under the desk.

Regarding you monitor placement. It is ideal to work in a symmetrical position with your setup and your room. So you sit in the apex of an equilateral triangle created by you and your monitors, and your monitors are the same distance from the walls behind and to the sides.

With that said, some of us can't do that. I have my stuff set up in my dining room, and I'm jammed up against the wall. So one of my speakers is like 6 inches away from the wall. The other speaker is out in the room, and the nearest wall is like 12-15 feet away. This causes all kinds of imaging problems, as I'm getting a reflection off of the near wall a lot sooner than I'm getting it off of the far wall. It's horrible. It looks like you've got somewhat of the same setup. But you can only do what you can do. I can't change my setup. But you can get your pc out from in front of your right monitor. That will help greatly.

Mind are basically in the center of my room. That is where it has to be because i have a chimney right in the middle of the room and it's an attic so the walls are really just the inside of the roof. Not many 90 degree angles for freqs to get trapped in. It is pretty ideal for an untreated room. Might have some probs when I rip the carpet out and sand the floors tho, we will see.

Oh yeah man, I've got a terrible set up like that too

My back is to the wall and my monitors are about 5 five from the wall and whenever I play certain frequencies shit starts to ring and its fucking horrible

Just did a lot of selling and buying. New setup!



Still need to clean up the spiderweb of cables, and get something to raise the back of the modules so they are angled, but this is my new work area.
Better pictures soon after I do the finishing touches.
