Drum rack for basslines
I know theres a lot of threads about chopping up basslines. But i had an idea of putting the bounced/chopped up basslines into the drum rack(ableton) to make a bassline.
I find it works wonders!
Having the basslines one on top of the other makes to soo much easier to map out the bassline. Set a loop with a drum beat going and go nuts.
Don't know if its been said before but made a drastic change in sequencing my basslines so thought i would share.

Re: Drum rack for basslines
will post a screenshot when i get home from work.
the good thing is you can edit each sample just like using simpler and add effects to each aswell.
I find its just easier to map your bassline out when using your chopped samples in one "clip" rather then having your samples in diffent tracks and clips.

Re: Drum rack for basslines
never underestimate how inpsiring it can be PLAYING something out. let it run for your whole tune and play it, fix the mistakes, copy & paste, etc--- but yeah, without a doubt one of the best ways to re-imagine sampled stuff.
