classics both.. Tony Royster Jnr was better in that clip when he was 12 than anything I've seen/heard him do now he's older...which is weird....must have been on something

Probably not a patch tehcnically compared to todays top line drummers, but theirs still no one who can hold your attention like Bonzo did.

Two is ALWAYS better than one. Johnny Rabb and Marco Minneman. So damn sickkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk. Makes me wonder why I thought guitar was so cool. :6:

Rabb has some of the most precise wrists/hands I have ever seen. Look up more of his stuff on the Tube if you are really interested.

Hope y'all like samples...

RIP TFOT

^ No doubt, Johnny Rabb was one of the dudes @ the forefront of live d&b, along with KJ Sawka, Amir Ziv, Jojo Mayer, Guy LIcata and Jungledrummer...

In general i really don't enjoy splattastic, hyper-technical solos á la Portnoy, etc. probably comes out of jealousy, knowing how much i'd have to practice super-nerdy handy technique to get back into that.... but, meh, just not my thing any more. It certainly was in my mid-teens, though.

Minneman's a monster.

goddamn it looks like he's playing w/ 2B's or something.

that triplet thing around the toms is classic Blakey-- in every solo practically.

fav. part of art blakey records is how you can always hear him grunting. dude was going for it.

that Tony solo is a classic one as well-- we need macc to weigh in on his favorite tony williams solos tho

Steve Gadd is badman. Just a lesson in restrained, syncopated groove.
