It's as dumb as calling it folk rock and the »real heads« seem to be pretty annoyed by it

i ddint read the replies but id like to do a demographic analysis of the poster from nothing but the thread title.

I would guess the following about the op:

race: white
age : 16-21
nationality : American
economic : middle/upper middle class
status: single, lives with parent(s)
religion: non practising christian (christian parents)
drugs: Y (weed, possibly E,Coke)
hobbies: cars,
education: high school (graduate or soon to be)
Location: this one is tough but im goin with florida or cali.

the Op has 25 in his username but i dont want to let that throw me off my "gut feelin" of 16-21

This is not a put down at all, i just want to know how accurately i can sus out stuff about posters with limited info. so dont take affense but please let me know how i did

People referring to Dubstep as Dub didn't really bother me...until I realised the Dubstep they were talking about is the type least like Dub that you can get. Early Skream? Hijak releases on Deep Medi? RSD? Yeah...you could say that's Dub and get away with it....

But calling Cookie Monsta et al Dub? no, just no.
I don't turn on Korn to get it on, I be playin Digi Mystikz 'til the dawn

That's exactly right. What about tracks like 'Dally,' 'CCTV,' or 'New Life Baby Paris?' I reckon they're dub in the original sense of the word.

OP doesn't have to listen to anyone and will continue calling dubstep 'dub' and there's nothing you can do about it.
