what up man, i live in raleigh. there is no dubstep scene here, none. me and my boys have a crew and we're the only ones making or spinning dubstep here. holla if you wanna chill, spin some tunes and party. but yea, its a real small area and the kids from here are into dnb. old ass dnb. some good acts come thru from time to time but no dubstep scene. were moving at the end of the year, im headed to ny and my boys are moving to houston and jacksonville. cant wait to get into a bigger market, dubstep is big in larger cities, NY, Boston, San Fran but Raleigh is a pretty small city. what brings you to these parts?

Oops, my fault, i guess i shouldnt assume genders anymore. it was a 50/50 shot.
atlanta would have been a good choice, but raleigh isnt a bad area. its just a bad area if your big into electronic music or looking for a big club scene.
Have a safe flight, and have fun in NY. ill PM you my email.
worst case scenario if theres no shows coming up soon we'll throw down a set in my kitchen

Hey, I think you ought to create a scene (or bigger scene, at least) in North Carolina. I live near Raleigh and would love to hear some dubstep live. Although I'd imagine my age might be an issue depending on where you play (only 15).

Sup all,
If you want a scene a little closer, Asheville has a pretty good dubstep scene. It's also only about 3.5 hours to get here. Club 828 especially has been getting some pretty good acts, including caspa tomorrow and joker in a couple of weeks.

Its been around here for a while now, most just do a set and go back to their forte (dnb, breaks). I've been playing dub, on vinyl, in raleigh for over a year. I still get some that ask "wtf iz dis shit?" Its getting more play recently ist gonna stop anytime soon. Unless the uk post goes on strike again....

I'm in Greensboro (not far from Raleigh), and we have a very tiny amount of people into dubstep. Well, they are actually more into rusko, datsik, brostep, poppy stuff, etc. Most people in North Carolina still worship Dara, Dieselboy, Baby Anne, Dj Icey, etc. etc. Its like they are stuck in 1997-2000.

Asheville and Charlotte are really the ONLY two places in NC where the shows are actually worth traveling to. Bass Church in Charlotte every month is FREE and at least a thousand people go every month. You need to watch out for all the super crazy hipsters there though and also the bros.( don't say I didn't warn you!! lol) Club 828 in Asheville is usually pretty hot too. Not really any hipsters , just a good vibe and some heavy bass.
Cheers.

I live in Charlotte and the scene is decent. Bass Church is where its at. As well as a new Bass Church type gig called Temple of Boom which is going to be held April 23rd with DJ SHIFTEE and will hopefully become a regular event. A lot of hipsters in Charlotte though. Expect very few people who could be in Highschool to have a good taste in the music. A lot of kids figuring out what this crazy dubstep music is and associate it with Bassnectar.
