Loefah, Caspa, Kromestar, etc.
Hi, I was wondering how one would go about making those huge subby wobbles? I'm tired of all the newer midrange and Datsik inspired sh*t.
If you could give me a general idea for doing this I'd be very greatful. I use massive and albino3.
I tried just automating a sub, but usually it just doesn't sound right to me!!.

For the record, it's a g string and it's dead center.

Re: Loefah, Caspa, Kromestar, etc.
Any other kind of processing going on though?
Just wobbling a sub isn't really doing it for me. Maybe lay off the low pass a bit?

Re: Loefah, Caspa, Kromestar, etc.
You could layer up the sub with something else as a bit of a subtle addition, even if it's just another sine wave slightly detuned by a few cents. Or maybe a few octaves higher with a slightly different LFO rate to try and create a bit of movement perhaps?
Either that or if your up for it then perhaps try running your sub out of your computer and back in through a mixer with a touch of analog clipping to add a bit of warmth to it. Those are some of the things i've experimented with to give the sub a bit more character.
I think that subtlety is the key really, its all about getting the balance right so that the two sounds are perceived as one big rumbling bass. If anyone has some ideas then please share, it's something I've been experimenting with lately.

or just fuck around with it til you get it right.. getting subby sounds with low pitched sine wavs is not a problem..

subtle overdrive, character compressors, amp/tube plugins... anything that can tint the color a bit... they go a long way used properly I promise.

Re: Loefah, Caspa, Kromestar, etc.
try working with saw and square waves pithced down and run thru the lpf with the cutoff turned wayyy down. this gives you a nice harmonic sounding sub bass. and you can raise and lower the cutoff to give it different textures.
