Sources for tunes???

Post by krispy » Wed Jul 21, 2010 6:14 pm

I recently saw Subvert play this weekend and was completely blown away by the originality and just plain awesomeness of the tracks he played. Nearly all of them I had never heard before and all of them were the sickest dubstep tracks i've ever heard.

Normally when I get my tracks I just get them from beatport. Now I know alot of his tracks are probably bootlegs never to be released to the public, but what are some other places I can find sick tracks besides beatport??

i think soundcloud is a good source for tunes if you take the time to ask around a bit and search the pages endlessly :P, other than that i try to find out as much new artists as i can in all kinds of music styles all the time through friends, parties. listening to alot of mixes posted online with tracklistnings and some of the internet radios availible on itunes/winamp. when you spot artists with a nice style you can always ask them if they have some nice tracks they want to share with you, alot of people are happy to share their music with djs when asked

Simply put, networking with the producers themselves. A lot easier if you're a producer too, but just get in with some of the up and coming guys and you'll get tracks sent all over the place for promo use.

Also, soundcloud and websites such as squittybubbler.
