big tack above^^^ wrong thread though

ceruleanbeats - peace
loving the sample work on the intro, but the intro itself could do with shortening a bit. i like how you fade in the instruments and that synth in the back ground is nice. a bassline would be nice at this point, but i suppose you going for something different. those garage esque drums that come in at 2.28 really dont suit the tune imo, i nice slow break would of done it. overall i like it, its unique.

dj vc - shitphone
the intro is clean, you should try doing something with the hi hats, maybe a delay to get them jumping. sample is a bit cliched for a jump up tune but it doesnt really bother me. the drop itself is cool but the bassline is a bit too loud imo. some sharper mastering (although i cant really say anything cus my mastering blows) and this is could be a good un.

2 for 2, let me know what you think

Interesting intro, Sounds more in the hip hop/grime genre but I like. Sounds vocal ready to me. Very solid I like!!!

Soundcloud[/quote]

Kinda ol' skool beat especially with that hi hat almost like Mantronix 80's style Hip Hop. Really need an emcee to expand these tracks further I feel.

Soundcloud

Love the "toy town" rhythm intro, wasn't expecting that beat, real nice flow there. same as before need to get vocal content up on these!!

One more thing I did think this was for dubstep production but no rules on riddim I suppose. Just saying.

3 tracks from me done recently, really pleased with "Blow Off" Feedback good and bad really is appreciated. Apologies to the moderators for my past trespassing, I was commenting...jus wasn't commenting and posting my tracks in same thread.

I'm going to try to contribute more to this thread

JOMA:
nosedive - id like to hear some atmospherics going on during the intro, it sounds a bit 'empty'
at 1:30 when the high bass comes back in its kind of random- try to transition INTO that part.
The kickdrum sound isnt that great imho. it needs some high frequency to help it cut through the mix. I'd probably just use a different sample. after the breakdown, it'd be great to introduce a pad sound or something to fill it out.

matchstick men- i realize you probably were trying to make a song without bass, but I think it would sound better with some sort of bass line. Add variation to the drums.

ROLAZ:
blow off-
I really like the vibe on this one! But I really dont think the vocal sample really fits that vibe!
the kick drum sounds distorted and not in a good way.
Also the vocal sample isnt mixed well, it really sticks out and sounds like it's placed 'over' not 'in' the track. eq it if you keep it
Personally I like the steppy part better than the wobble verse.

spaceman-
cool intro
on this one the vocal fits the track great!
Nice 1st drop, dark. Put in some hi pitched plinky type sounds to fill it in, especially before the tambourine drops it sounds empty
@ 2:05 Second drop with the vocals is BIG but then the energy drops so fast after the gunshot.

dark minds-
pretty cool track, i really like the drums on this, but maybe turn down the hihat.
@3:30 the pads sound a lil cheesy imo

SAEF-
the arrangement is really good, but id take the hi hats out of the beginning.
I wish the bass was a tiny bit less de-tuned sounding
3:25 the guitar is $
great job!
If my calculations are correct, when this baby hits 88 miles per hour, you're going to see some serious shit.

@joma - nose dive - Nice tune man, can't think of anything to criticize I just really like your style. the sampling is simply top notch in this track.

matchstick men is a bit repetitive for my taste but the sampling is great there too.

overall, I'd say your shit is some of my favorite stuff that I've heard on this forum. big up! I'll definitely be following your sc

@rinseballs21
Like the intro. I fund the drop a bit weak, lacks impact. Primarly because of the weak kick. The low end seems a bit muddy to me, make sure you have no reverb down there. Like the sounds tho.

@saef
Not mind kind of thing, nut the production is pretty solid on this. The intro works well, builds up nicely to the drop. Bass is pretty nice, but i think it would be even better if you widened the top end on it a bit more.

@joma
nose dive: Imo the sub is eating the kick a bit. I would throw in more percussion in there, not just 1 shaker, to keep it more rolling. The percussion also need a bit more spark on the hi end. The snare/clap also seems to be fighting for room, i've noticed several volume changes on it on different sections, maybe that was intentional?

Here is my latest track 'Unhooked', been busy with this for the last 2 days. It's an intrumental based hiphop track with some deep/dark feeling to it, or whatever you wanna call it. All feed welcome, cheers in advance.

@Project Ex: Where'd you get that soundbite from? I think if you were to put a like, rise up right before "Get everyone unhooked", but stop all noise right before she says that, and then put a downsweep right on the drop with a deep sub bass, the track would bring a little more attention to the ears. Also when the second soundbite comes it, would be cool if you switched the pad line up a little, and then brought it back in on the second drop. Overall, dig the track and think it has mad potential.

Thanks for the feed! To be honest I can't recall where I got it from, some random sample site, sorry. I usually spend some time looking thru one and dl everything that has potential and put everything in one folder so I cant trace the place I got it from.

Yeah I was kinda toying with the rise like you said, but it sounded like the rise comes prematurely so that's why I put just before the drop. But I'ma give it another go tomorrow and i'll also look into the pad change up at the second soundbite. I've got a pretty deep sub on the drop imo, it's actually a C1 followed by G1, B1 and B#1. The C1 is like 31hz or something like that so it wont translate very well on most monitors. Mine go only to 49hz or something like that so I had to monitor it thru cans. I've also checked the sub levels on a big hifi with sub so they should be ok I think.

Yeah thought so, it will do the opposite, muddy the shit up. Just split your bass in three bands and treat each individually. Leave the low band dry, then you can put reverb on the high band and maybe a lil bit on the mid one. Try a bunch of FX on each band and see which gives you the best result.

@ Rolaz - im diggin most of your songs, blow off has a lot of good layering too it. and i love your use of samples in there, super clean and transitions smooth.

@ FaKoHm - I really like the song, good style and good production. every thing sounds clean and im diggin the breaks in your track! fat tone and a good wobble

@ project EX - your hiphop track is pretty sick, im diggin the whole beat! maybe you toss in some breaks but overall its good!

here a little something of mine ive put together! went for the filth shit..

will do....do you have any ideas on strengthening my kick drums. i compressed the fuck out of it, eq'd it fairly well, do you think i should just layer more kicks on top?

Compressing the fuck out of it doesn't necessarily mean it will punch. I only compress things which I think need it. First of all you gotta start with good samples (can't polish a turd). Layering can add to the punch, but don't just take 2 random kicks. Find one more subby one and one with a snap to it. You'll need to eq or use the amp envelope to make sure they are not sharing the same freqs. Last but not least, make sure the kick and the bass sit well with each other and are not fighting for space. Hope this helps

really feeling the intro of this but not really sure about the wobbles when they drop. i really like the atmosphere you create with the layering of them vocal samples and the bells and strings

can't really comment on the other two cos i'm not really into the wobblers, blow off is good tho
