cubase and reason?
im usin reason but feel that the sound can sumtimes b a bit muddy/hollow[hard 2 explain]
and just not that powerful.
does cubase giv tunes more of a proffesional sound,r the eqs and effects ect... better.

It is very possible to make good tracks in reason tho.

i've never used cubase, but the main difference is reason can't use external vst's by itself. cubase and other hosts like ableton, dp, or logic, can sync reason with other vst instruments and effects, as well as record audio tracks along with it.
if you're new to music, you can learn a lot with reason by itself, but save up to get a host for sure in the near future.

I personally feel that the reason synths can sound a bit pants.

I love Reason and cant wait to use Thor on Reason 4 but you need to do alot to a sound from either the subtractor or the malstrom to get it nice and clean, whereas with most other VST synths the sound quality is usually high to begin with, hence why ppl beleive DAWs like cubase, logik, even FL sound better than reason.

My advice is to use the synths in reason for pads, the malstrom merks most synths on pads & leads imo, for your bass, use your elements in the NN19 eg: load up a square wav from a refill or whatever, so your actually starting with a high quality sound, then use the filters/envelopes in the samplers as you would on the synths, you will hear a big imporvement in quality trust me.

but then again, who the fuk am I??!!??

Cubase Logic and Live are all very capable multitrack recorders.

Logic is especially powerful but it's mac only now

Live is easier to learn, but much less featureful than the other two. I very much like all three (although have not used logic very much).

Cubase is my preferred software without a doubt.
