- Not sure if this is dubstep or not, probably isn't. Check it out anyways :] Needs one more friendly EQ, but it should be done.
- I will comment4comment, and feedback4feedback. Let me know :]

Don't be surprised if I leave tons of feedback on your soundcloud, I hope you do the same for me.

i like deep drony rolling tunes like this. good percussion work and atmospherics. i would say u need to beef up u're kick a lot more cos u can barely hear it. maybe a bit of eq will sort that out. also, increase the volume of the kicks and snares so they have the same amount of presence in the track as your percussion and synths
agree... try also to put a little bit of sidechain compression!

Left comments in folks soundclouds as per usual! :)

Here's my latest. Inspired by the early 90s format wars, with a slab of bass fatter than your mum maybe, I don't know, she might be quite skinny.

Hey guys i made a new dubstep track with dem wobbles ya no what im sayin bruv? I got dem wubs goin so gimme feedback even tho i haven't gave any to anyone. :u:

Ok serious time...

@Remote control - great atmosphereic intro (track woulden't load past that for some reason... although i'm on shity internet atm... so i'll check it out later)

@EraRedux - Track was good, but it felt kinda empty. Not sure what would fit in it to make it more "full". but it's just opinion so don't take it the wrong way

@Galbm - wicked track man. def. a good production.

Lookin forward to some feedback on my new track.
Thanks,

instigiate - shark attack
intro is cool, could do with maybe a bit more atmos imo. the sample sounds tidy. the drop is effing sick, love the variation aswell, youve handled this nicely. big tune man.

reset the atari - hey yo
i like the fade in synth and the sample, but not much is going on pre drop, a bit more to shaking things up and get more of a build up would be nice. the drop itself is ok, again i like the sounds you added for variation, tracks like this can get boring quickly but you done good :) . you could of done with switching the drums up abit imo, but the vocal that comes in at 2.17 and 3.53 is sick, id of liked to of heard more of it. overall nice tune, but little improvements make a lot of difference.

Not sure if it's dubstep or not, but either way, please tell me what you think :) Thank you!

By the way, all samples/edits, no synths or any other VSTs used besides effects.

@ victoryaloy: well the intro was nice, the bass came kinda unexpected... dunno what to think about it. I like like the intro and the bass part, but they just don't fit together. Also, drop the fucking vocal, it's rediculous

@ Joma: could use some mastering but certainly not bad ! rather enjoyed the whole epic sounding!

@Kaza : can't open youtube link or something :o

@Galbm: lol did you just use a bass sample from Bar 9? I got the feeling you sampled alot of basses from different songs and put them together...

@instigate: nice bass man but eum... BROSTEP DRUMS :u: :u: :u: :u: :t:

My new remix, some tips are welcome!

I have decided there are some people who post in this thread that I like very much and others who I feel less warm towards...

@Kaza - Firstly I like the way you try to take care of this place when I'm gone XD now onto your tune; The quality sounds a little wobbly, dunno if it's cos it's on youtube or something or whether it's down to your mixdown etc but it sounds like it's youtubes fault to me so we'll go with that! I like the general vibe of it but for me it feels like it never really gets to where it wants to go if that makes sense? That main synth is cool but sound a bit like an intro synth and plays in too much of the song, I think if you removed it from some of the main sections with vocals and raised the growl up in the mix a bit it would sound better. Sometimes less is more :) overall I do like the tune though, just trying to give some constructive advice, keep at it dude!

@Reignz - Fave song i've critiqued today XD good stuff as always, feel like it's better mixed down than the last tune I heard by you. Love those bleepy lead synths in the intro/breakdown sections etc, they all flow really nicely together and set you up a treat for the drop :p The one negative thing I would say about it is the bass sounds like it's played an octave too high or hasn't been lowpassed or something? otherwise top tune!

@Victoryaloy - Nice clarity in the intro though the pads could be raised a little. Not really feeling the drop i'm afraid, not much definition in the midlines and it's a bit too brosteppy for me im afraid. Not really any background ting going on either so it feels very bare. The drums lack the kind of punch you need to make this kind of music as well. Has potential but I would put a lot more work into it really, doesn't feel finished.

and resettheatari I left a comment on your soundcloud just the way you like it :)

Now heres mine, posted before in a very different state but realised it was el shito so I've fully reworked it into a much sleeker finished article (I hope!)

@ Victory, love the absolutely chilled out intro, the drop came totally unexpected I expected something to flow into the chilled intro tho.
@ Joma, love the flow on that one really headnodding here ;D
@ Galbm, especialy like your excision like synth, not really my cup of tea but definitly a good job!

I'm pretty new here, firstly looked around here for samples and Comb patches.
Pretty new to Reason's tools but i'm slowly getting the hang of it, currently busy with another project tho.
Latest "finished" tune:

would really appreciate some feedback!

Appreciate it, how were the kicks this time btw? I try'd to keep them nice a popy the way we like them :P

As for the bassline, i'll play with the saturation some and get it to sound a little meaner.

And it's saying your track is unavailable. :o

@remotecontrol - nice sense of space, the ethereal vocals are spot on. feels like it could have more hi-end percussion for a little sizzle

@resettheatari - fat bass, i'd like the vocal drop to be heavier though. maybe you could hold off on the serious low end until the vocal comes in and drop it then?

@instigate - totally filthy, no comments

I am trying to upload a song to soundcloud but everytime i click 'Save' it asks me to login again, even though im clearly logged in at the top of the page. Anyone had this problem before? One other question: is this the right place to post tracks I've made that aren't exactly dubstep but are similar? The other music pages don't have a specific production page after all. Sorry for the questions, but at least I took the time to check some tracks first

Working backwords on this one. This is what happens when you are a slacker and you don't check the finished tracks thread much...
@ Hankerins -
Your track isn't loading up. As you've stated. (edit- of course once I click submit, there is your track!) I like where things are going, maybe make the kick hit a little heavier. It's got an interesting sound to it. Decent stuff. Will it be a longer song?
@ Cubicle -
The bass wobbling is a little all over the place for my liking. And the vocals seem way louder than everything else. Especially when you fade out like that. (1:10ish) I guess all the wobble isn't really my thing. The drums could use a bit more change up, although they aren't boring.
Not bad for new on Reason though. (I feel like a jerk saying this kind of stuff, but I'm just trying to be honest.) Keep at it.
@ Paravrais -
It's not playing for me. Boo.
@ Reignz -
Your production levels are something to strive for, for sure. Everything sits wonderfully. Diggin when you throw in the Amen breaks. The flow of the track is nice, I like how it changes just enough to keep things interesting. Good drums, good synth, good tune. Now I'll remove my lips from your ass....
@ Zodiak -
I like the bouncing percussion in the beginning. The sounds sit nicely. At first I wasn't sure what to think of it all when the beat kicked in, but it kind of grew on me as it went along. Interesting stuff.
@ Victoryaloy -
Nice and lush intro. I'm digging how the tune is building. It's not just smacking me in the face. And once things get going, I have to take that back. You just punched me. It's like a dj just dropped another track out of nowhere. And the volume levels don't fit. Jekylle n Hyde, if you will. If these were two seperate songs, I'd probably enjoy them both, but together it doesn't seem to make sense. And the vocals don't fit.
@ Joma -
Good tune, definitely. I really dig the intro, nice funky bouncy beat. Seems a bit muted throughout, but nothing a little mastering can't fix. Nice breakdown. Flows nicely, man. Good stuff.
@ al4228 (kaza) -
It's taking forever to load!!!! lol.
Ok, now that it's up and running.... Either youtube is making things wonky, or the overall song is a bit jumpy in volume. I'll blame youtube. The song isn't bad by any means, but I feel like it needs to go somewhere. It's a bit repetitive. Like, take what you have, and explore further on it? I like the vocals. Good sounds on what you have.. Minus Youtube being a jerk.
@ Galbm -
Nice stuff. Heavy drums, interesting synth work. Good use of vocals. My complaint. Too damn short. Although I'm sure there is a longer version, yes? Everthing sits nicely in the mix.
@ Dj Instigate -
Heavy. I like the little reverse soundy thing. (technical terms all the way!) Diggin' the basslines. The drums could use some change ups. That's probably the only thing I'd change.

Ok, enough nonsense from me now. Keep up the good work everybody! :w:

Is my tune not working for anyone then? It seems fine to me :s and I have had a comment on the soundcloud so it should work I guess...if people are stilll having trouble with it in a bit then i'll re-up or something.

Will come back here with more feedback later cos I really want some on this tune! pretty proud of it!
