you get what you pay for, simple as that. if you want ac sleeper beds with a waitor etc etc you can pay for it

or you can pay for no seats

to be honest i think thats the general rule of india. whenever you want to look for something theres a whole range, right from the luxury down to the dirty. a huge scale: you just need to find the level that fits your budget best.

Like what HRKRT said. You get what you pay for.

These websites are quite useful though:

http://www.seat61.com/India.htm

http://www.indiamike.com/

I'm deffo going to Manali. The Parvati Valley makes some seriously blessed ganja.

And when I was in Varanasi in March there were sooooo many depressed looking travellers who had learnt that you can't re-enter India on a tourist visa without a 3 month gap between entries. BRASS.

I'm booking my flights today! Oman Air (badman) have a deal on return to Chennai that my mates are getting, £330 return from Heathrow.

I'm leaving the 24st of october, first week will be me hiking around the country alone (I really need some alone time).
Landing in Mumbai, then taking the train to Varanasi that morning, after that up to Aghra followed by Jaipur/Jodhpur. After that I will return to Mumbai and visit the city with my family who should arrive then. Last week will be to Goa.

Stay in the Shanti guest house in Varanasi, and tell 'em the lad with the shanti tattoo on his leg says safe.

That place is proper jokes, the rooftop bar/restaurant serves ganja milkshake, you can also blaze up there and they sell really cheap 7% bottles of Cobra. They also show cricket AND it's easy to pick up slutty gap-year chicks.

Dude, buy a Lonely Planet.

All of your wildest questions answered, for only £19.95.

Allow all the people who look down on backpackers using the LP. If I wanted to spend my holiday sitting in a field that had never seen civilisation surrounded by hicks I'd go to Scotland.

BHANGRA is badboy! I'm not even Punjabi and I love that shit. Listen to it in the gym on the cross-trainer for maximum jump-up effect.
