but yesterday I sat in the bus on the way to home, and I had a couple of ideas in my head, and I just started to draw my tune :D

after a couple of minutes I had a whole arangement and when I was home I started to write and now my track is almost finished. It worked like a charm and was also fun to do

maybe it's worth a shot for you and other producers :P
When you say draw, do you mean map out mentally, or are you like me, and have you invented a means of drawing edm into your own sort of musical notation gibberish?
I've never tried writing out a plan. I'm going have to give it a go soon.

thanks for the insight everyone, so from what everyone is saying i'm thinking i should just experiment with different ways of starting a track and just go with the flow once i get something that I like.

I also have one more quick question...

how did you learn more techniques and how to create different sounds...I've just been watching tutorials on youtube, reading stuff one here and experimenting but alot of my wobbles for example end up sounding the same or sounding like shit lol...is there anywhere else i should look or anything else i should do??

tweak the fuck out of your synths

I only use a couple of plugins but I really know them well now:)

try random stuff, see what this and that knob are doing if you do this and that

trial and error is the way to go

you can read manuals but trying things yourself before you read the manuals is a better way to learn IMO

1. Get in a fight on the internet.

2. Continue fighting.

3. Have a thread made about said fight.

4. Get called a pussy by a load of people.

5. Make tune so that they stop calling me a pussy

6. Finished!

(just messing around by the way...couldn't resist)

i dont really plan out anything, but if happen to listen to something b4 producing more than likely it will be me tryin to sound like that sadly. but i usually start with pads for a mood, then drums usually not a simple 1 and 3 kick snare. then maybe sub line i almost never do midrange bass so my shits pretty simple. i still need alot of work but after the main section i got backwards and do a intro-drop. then just work forward

Study the fuck out of the production section. Imagine that you are training in kung fu, and most of these guys are your teachers. It'll take you a good long while before you can snatch that grasshopper from their hands. There is a fountain of knowledge here. This is the only advice I could ever give anyone right now, since I too am still in the learning phase. It's exciting, frustrating, exhilarating and more!
A few handy dandy tools for you....
