Alternatives to Impulse (Ableton)

Post by Zodiak » Wed Jul 28, 2010 10:34 pm

Hey everyone! I'm currently using Impulse as my drum machine for most of my tracks, but the fact that you can't apply effects to individual drum sounds is obviously very limiting (I know there's some awkward way to do this, but it's cumbersome). There's also the option to just have all the drum hits on separate tracks, but that occupies too much space. I know there's Battery but it's too costly. So what's my best bet?

Drumracks is the bees knees get to know. I don't even have any use for impulse tbh.

Yeah, use drum racks. But for the record, if you do want to use impulse, all that you need to do is create an audio channel and then choose the impulse sound that you want in the routing drop down menu. It's pretty easy actually.

Used to use Impulse all the time and now i don't know why I bothered - Drum Racks are your friend!!! Also great to control a load of simplers or samplers loaded with synths/vocals/whatever - not just drums

I can't stand making beats with my mouse.

I need to feel the rhythm in real time I guess.
