Nothing thus far, Tripwire made 15 dollars the other day... That was fairly impressive...

Re: To those who are signed
I'd say around 4 or 500 pounds from digital releases so far.
However my last EP, a couple of the tracks got some great exposure after being played by some very well known DJ's, and it's one that i have done loads of marketing myself also. Was a 4/4 dub tech album but had a dubstep remix on there that did quite well as well i believe. I find out next month the sales figures (released in Feb)... i expect to make a couple hundred from that one.

Actually i tried releasing some of my own music on bandcamp and that made me some money also - straight into paypal and no cuts with anyone.
Think i did around 200 quid whith those releases.
'Back in the money making hayday' for dance music (99/00) one of my friends signed one of his tracks signed to a well known dance compilation series.
Still gets the odd cheque from time to time today - think he's made upwards of 7,000 pounds from that one track

I'm A dubstep hundredare
..........I don't know too many ppl that pay their rent just by sellin tunes. Charting high is what gets ya booked, and getting booked is how ya make money.
Re: To those who are signed
the sad part is that the producing part is the most difficult process wich you get little for in return
and the dj's get all the money
gigs is where the money is

Re: To those who are signed
Not a lot - but it HAS come in handy a few times...
For instance, once I got laid off from a job at the same time I got an advance for a record, so I was still able to pay rent that month. That was nice.

I bet he still lives with his parents. He AND Benga. Doing as well as they are, even they probably only make as much as your average job would pay someone our age, but d*mnit, making tunes and making enough to pay a car note and such is one hell of a way to liveGenevieve wrote:Skream should post in this thread.

Yeah they probably make enough off their tunes to just have a normal life, it's their DJing and fame that makes em rich thoughketamine wrote:I bet he still lives with his parents. He AND Benga. Re: To those who are signed
arrrrooouuund £300 But thats including an advance payment for one of my forthcoming vinyl releases
Re: To those who are signed
Skream is definitely minted/about to be, even if you don't want to count the money from playing shows think about how well the la roux remix did, thats a lot of radio one play and a lot of sales, then think about the fact that magnetic man is number 10 in the itunes sales charts right now, I know you have to sell a lot of tunes to make money but skream isn't reaching a a niche EDM market anymore. He's on the verge of being a pop star.ketamine wrote:I bet he still lives with his parents. He AND Benga.
