@ jakedubber

Nice drums man, i like your automation too, but its lacking some real sub, would love to hear the finished version.

I came across some uncle sam vocals, and i got on this odd reggae vibe, check it out, would love feedback from anyone.

Feedback as promised --

@reignz - I like it. It's fat but at the same time makes me want to just chill and not move. Well done.

@dav.id - I really like all the percussion stuff going on. The changes of notes in the middle came at just the right time. I'm looking forward to see what you do with this.

@4Trak - I could see people dancing to this. haha I think that if you accent the first hit of the really fast bass drum roll (:38), fade it out to almost nothing, and then fade back in would make it sound really sweet.

@triggy - That's a dirty freaking track. 'nuff said.

@jakedubber - I really like that synth sound you have. It's not too in your face, but not too wimpy. The whole thing feels a little hollow -- only thing it's missing is some really chest-thumping low-end. And I love that drum fill at 1:22.

@Skriptah - I dig the vibe. Real good start. I'm not a huge fan of vocals in these types of songs, but the ones you put in fit too well to not enjoy.

@baaan - Cool atmosphere. It sounds evil, but inspiring... I don't know if inspiring is the right word for it... But it's good shit. haha

Yeah, ive been working on this for a wee while, but I'm afraid that its becoming a little stale - which is why I'm chucking this in here... What do you rekon I should to improve/progress from here? :?

@Imperial - Gorilla Funk Drumstep VIP. I really like the sounds you're using and the automation of them. Sounding cool. The drums are a bit under-stated. The bass drum and snare need to bee a bit more punchy and in the front of the mix. The hihat could be a little quieter and some of the hits should be accented to make it feel a bit more natural, despite the electronic nature of the whole song. NIce work dude :)

This is another one of my '30 tracks in 30 days' thing, today's in fact.

@4Trak - I love the glitchy bits from 0:41, maybe elaborate on those. I don't really like the build up to that, or the one at the end. I think a swelling sound would work a bit better (could be wrong but it's worth a try). A really bassy kick drum or boom sound every now and then would really pull the song along (like this: http://www.freesound.org/samplesViewSingle.php?id=33637). Really chillaxing, I love the feel of it. Looking forward to hearing the finished version.

@4trak: Nice track, feeling the percussion on that one. I like the filter you've put on everything too, given it that sort of muffled/underwater feeling but you haven't over done it. For a minute i thought my soundcloud was messing up when it done the stutter glitch bit but then i realised it was apart of the track. Works pretty well tbh.

New track in the sig. Been messing with orchestral a lot recently

First post - Longtime lurker, using all the information and materials gathered here I finally finished a track I would consider listenable.

@Shekul - I am loving your track, it is well produced and has a great vibe. I think varying melody and rhythm on the strings would really make it come alive.

@4Track - Track has a great flow to it, I kept waiting for it to open up and have the kick and snare come out. Definitely want to hear this when it's done.

@jakedubber - Nice track for a single days worth of work, if you plan on going back and making adjustments I think a synth to fill out the top end would do wonders. Also try different instruments with the main line to keep things interesting. I sure as hell can't come up with a track a day.

Here is my first track: Feedback would be great.

@Magoula - For a first track that's impressive dude! Really good work. I love the wobble sound that comes in at 1:57 and 4:10. I reckon some glitchy drums would sound awesome in there, the drums you have are just not grabbing my attention. Also, thanks for the feedback, here's what I did with the track based (loosely :)) on what you suggested.

hey guys. I'm newly registered and trying to get into the surgical world of dubstep production. I've read a decent portion of the bible as well as many random threads in this section. There is so much information, it's hard to dig through it all to get to the good stuff, but everything I've managed to read has been helpful and I really like the attitude here.

anyway, here is my current WIP, "Why is Dubstep so Bad?" Lemme know what you guys think so far. I'm gonna make the bass wobble for real in the last riff, but right now I've just got the notes chopped up with the LFO on 8ths. Massive is bass

hope I'm doing this right

@jakedubber i'm liking the roughness of this. dutty! the switch to a 2-steppy sort of rhythm also progresses it nicely, nice variation

@t_thrust i'm not too sure on the sample choice here lol, the american guy sort of ruins it and makes it sound cheesy (imo). but you've produced this well and i like this overall, it sounds interesting

here's this i've been working on, give it a listen

@ Skriptah - That's a sick vocal sample, but the "darkness" underneath doesn't really meld with it. The kit is spot on, though, i'd definitely keep that. But the pad and the synth at the end don't really match the mood of the vocals.

@Baan - real dub vibe here, great stuff. Put some stuff on top of it!

@suckabeat - Really feelin this! after the 2nd little drop you need to get a little more oomf out of your snare, maybe add a hit somewhere. Towards the end you just gotta amp up the intensity and play with the melody a little bit

@Magoula I love the feeling and whole atmosphere of the intro, after de drop it gets a lil boring about 1:00 mark you could spice it up a lil bit great song!

here's a one day track just like @jakedubber's it's mainly to show some some MCs who are willing to work with me my stuff

Magoula - I really liked the intro to your track, and I think it has some great moments for a first track, your amen break moment I enjoyed a lot, very reminiscent of downlink's style. I think your drum's could be stronger in the mix for one. Second the song gets kind of boring, your hihats play the same rhythm a lot which gets kind of old and there isn't really any room to breath in your bassline its just constant sub which I find to be a little tiresome at times. I would advise more syncopation and small things to make it a little more interesting. Also try varying the strength/velocity of your snare hits a little bit so they don't sound so rigid and make the tune a little more dancy. Overall great start, more switchups and syncopation would be great. This is way better than my first track ;D!

@Jakedubber - really like the drums with the cool tambourine thingies - they also sound pretty good in your mix too. I think my main issue with your track is that those bass noses are so low en-dish that it seems like some other instrument or something could fit in there. Overall I think this track needs more SPACE if you get what I am saying like it sounds kind of one dimensional right now. try throwing some reverb and whatnot on your bass a bit more I think it would benefit. Cool song!

@Thrust - Funny vocal samples, for a newbie your drums sound great congrats, most people don't seem to make theirs loud enough in the mix. I think that your bass sounds a little weak right now probably could use some effects to give it some more space/presence in the mix. Great variation in here it kept my interest at least.

@Mashmash - Nice I dig the little stabs in there. I think the snare could maybe be a little louder and the sub a little less as well. Otherwise I dig its pretty cool!

@Fonnovo - Not a huge fan of the rap vocals but this song is well executed - I think your mix could use more sub. It obv shows you have skills for MC's tho. Mix sounds pretty good otherwise good tune but not rly my taste.

Here is my latest work in progress. Finally I am starting to feel like I can make what I am hearing in my head which feels great! I started it last night and stayed up all night on adderall perfecting it, Im trying to make deep subby vibes so hopefully that is showing through. tell me what you think and don't be shy!

@lordbid
nice track. i especially like the drum work after 54 seconds. i think you need to work on that synth before the drop, it doesn't fit in to the minimal intro imo. i think you need to build it up more here.
@dubplate guy not really my sort of thing, but you've produced this well with clean sounds, i think the snare's too quiet and the drums in general, and could do with a more prominent sub

@mashman - Not too in-your-face. Nice and cool, chill vibe. I really like it.

@Lordbid - Pretty sweet drop -- it just feels a little abrupt. I feel like the intro doesn't build up enough tension. Definitely a good start, though. I like your ideas a lot, especially the darkness of the tune.

@dubplateguy - Pretty dirty stuff. Just needs to be filled out with some low-end as others mentioned before. Sick tune.

Here's the same song I posted a couple days ago, but with a lot more added and changed. GarageBand and musical typing = PAIN IN THE ASS. :u: I'm still not really feeling the intro...
