it started that way, so why change? easier to get artists i guess as less chance of a weekend booking, maybe they're cheaper too? who gives a shit. always a big night. Still not 100% on fac251 though. Area 51 was great, Mint Lounge was great, Attic was great. Even Po na na was good at the start. Maybe it'll take time to get used to it as i guess its going to stay there for a while. Can't wait for tomorrow though

Thanks to everyone who came down - I'm sure you'll agree that Youngsta's set was a bit special. Was great to be able to put some extra rig in as well, sounded the best it has in there yet.

About that Monday thing.... it was for a few reasons we started on a Monday - one was just there was a gap at the time in Po Na Na's schedule on a Monday and the manager asked me to start a night. It meant also I was kept free for gigs at weekends, and side-stepped a lot of the politics between nights at the weekend. By having a night on a Monday you also tend to get the people who love the music enough to want to make it and there are loads of regulars who go to work rough every Tuesday and it tends to make the atmosphere a bit special due to the whole contrariness of it all.

We are able to save money on DJs (especially those on tours) due to it being on a Monday, though less so more and more, and that's why we offer the line-ups at such low prices; but we do also work off very high break evens...

Like any new venue it takes a while to settle in, and every time we've moved there have been some nostalgic grumbles for our previous home, but as we continue to tweak it am feeling more and more like it's the right place for us to be. It is also a very well run and secure venue; we've had problems at all our previous venues on the door at times, and it's great that we can relax there knowing our punters are safe. We've had our 3 busiest ever Mondays there, and as far as I can tell the regulars have followed us there.... hope any doubters can come round to it in time!

Peace! x

OMG, What a Night!
First time seeing Youngsta, and first time at Fac251, and i can honestly say, i loved it and will definately be going back!

Such a great crowd, sound was ace, youngsta was awesome! Had some proper funny chats while having a cigarette, (mainly about my boyf lookin like ben stiller haha)Its a real shame we had to leave at about half 2/3ish as we both have work today. Although hes on a work from home kinda situation today. Which makes me well jealous as im proper suffering now haha.

Anyways, awesome night was had by all, (well at least me and my 9 friends)

Thanks HitNRun, keep me posted on the next one
Will defo have to try and become a regular

Thanks
x
