Someone hacked into mine the other day, buying subs, PS3's, PSP's, Phones, comcorders and shit, luckily it seems that ebay have cancelled my account. Dodgey shit.

yeah happened to mine last week too. got 48 'bid cancelled' emails in my inbox and stuff.. all he was bidding on was phones, computers and stuff like that. Extra weird because it appears that his address, which he put in my account as well, is in the neighbouring postcode in Leeds...

this happened to someone at work.

passwords passwords passwords. too many people are making the mistake of having the ebay password and their email password all the same thing. ebay owns paypal. so once they have access to your ebay, they get access to your paypal.

1. make sure your password is military grade. numbers, letters, symbols
2. make sure you've got separate email addresses for paypal and ebay.
3. get an ebay security key

also, i shouldn't need to say this but DON'T use dictionary words. this is the first thing these phishing programs do. phish your password for all dictionary words in the 4 main latin languages. if you want to use a dictionary word, or name, make sure you reverse it, and add numbers and symbols.

example :

bollox

would be

b*110x

and

janet

would be

t3n@j

just got back from Germany today to find my accounts had been hijacked as well, some address in Nigeria. Think ebay are gettin wise to it tho, they froze my account before anything could happen: anything expensive anyway, he managed to win a book:
