Hi im new to this forum and have only been producing for a few months and so far this site has been really help full. I only work with logic so any chance of explaining how i can get this effect in pro 9? im also having the same problem that using the bitcrusher that comes with logic im getting a high pitch ring that it really hard to remove with taking away alot from the sound, any tips? any help greatly appreciated !!

The high pitched ring is a by product of the bit crush - just auto filter the top off it.
But I dont have Logic so Ill back away quietly wondering why I said anything

Cheers for the suggestion, how would i best go about this? as i say im new to this and i dont pretend to know alot ! Some people have said to EQ to top end off but that removes so much of the harmonics and leave it sounding shite! Is there a way of filtering it if so can you suggest how i can do this!

i dont understand the part about sending the bassline to a mixer track and then too another mixer track. im using FL.

In Ableton: Open a new audio track. Go to the arrangement view. Make sure you have the little I-O icon (right hand side of the screen) turned on. The default setting for an audio track is Ext. In (external in I assume). Click on that and on the drop down list you'll see an option called Resampling

Now all you have to do is solo the tracks that you want to be recorded/resampled/whateverthefuckyouwanttocallit. You can record as MANY tracks of your bassline as you want. EQ, distort, compress, fuck up, whatfuckingEVER you want to do. Mix two different versions together into one audio track. Its scary how limitless this technique is. With that said, don't just resample your bassline - go nuts! Your drum track, pads, leads, SINGLE DRUM HITS, vox, other samples. There is no limit my friends!

control + click region, bounce and merge after you've added effects. Rinse and repeat.

Also, Renoise has the amazing instrument grabber feature which does exactly what you want. I don't think it's enabled in the demo version tho.
