Sup dudes (and the occasional female)

Thoughts on the song in my sig? It's kind of a slow, lumbering track--but that's what I was going for haha.

ez... some good sounds in there, quite slow and lumbering :D

It feels like a mixture of aspects you like, im not a massive fan of the bass you got in there and with the melodys and such would perhaps look to switch that up a bit, the bass feels like a banger bass on a slow tune, would perhaps try and fit it in more

Good work though

Like the plucking synth, also not very keen on the bass, it doesn't really fit the tune imo. Might wanna try to switch it up a bit.
Drum work is good, nice variations. Mix is pretty good too.

@710

Your track certainly has a good groove to it. Some nice sounds too. Your snare sounds a little white noisey to me and with the shuffley sounds in the back it starts to grate a little. This might just be me though. Over-all it's a decently put together track, a little repetitive but I don't honestly think that matters much in dubstep lol. I like your bass sound - I would say the same as these guys though, doesn't feel entirely like it fits to me :S

@ project ex

Nice sampling, really great atmospheric intro, amazing when it drops. Seriously great tune, great work on the drums, a bit different from what you usually hear in the finished tracks for feedback thread, very nice work. Out of curiosity any chance you'd let us know where the samples are from? They're very cool. Fit really well. This reminds me of an old John Carpenter movie or something. Can't say a single bad thing about it man.

@710, Your song has a pretty cool flow to it. A different bass, but I think it sounds cool with the tune. I like it.

@Project Ex,Your song has great drums and drum variations. Not very much to say about the bass except that it keeps the song together and pushes it forward. Also a good track.

Any critique on my newest track?

@ kaiori

Thanks! To be honest I dont have any clue where I got it from, was from some sample site. I pop these random samples I find into one folder also and the download name of the sample was some generic shit like sample 1 or something. So searching by name is out of the question. Sorry :(. Your track is currently not available so i'll comment later :wink:

@ hendrix

Loving the intro, was expecting totally different drop. I'm not really feeling the drop tho, not my thing and it doesn't fit with the intro as it has a totally diffent vibe. I recon you should make a track on it's own from the intro. The bass is huge there!

there it is :)

First of all, pretty solid mix guys. Like the pad! I think the kick could be turned down a bit, to make it less prominent in the mix, as it's a quite ambient type of track. Percussion is ace! I would switch up the cymbal rise before each drop. Make it come in a bit earlier and let it echo out completly and bam the drop. U could also try to fade out the pad as the cymbal echos out to get a almost complete silence just before the drop. I think this would add alot. Overall a very solid track guys.

Alright I will keep that in mind and try to make a new track from the intro. Thanks for the feedback.

ok...

@710

Nice track - Would like to see some more sub in there, and maybe a bit of ambience, sounds a bit bare. Love the bouncy feel though, nice work :)

@ Project EX

Great piece - Love the movement the drums gives it - this would soun amazing with a thumping sub beat also, may I have a copy to remix? :)

@ hendrix126

Nuts! - two things. Firstly, I think you could add one more bar of your tune just before your drop, without the bass. The lower bit, I think the silence is too long, and adding this would give it more punch ^^ Secondly, the whole track is good, but the intro is by far the best part :) a whole track with that feel would be awesome :)

@tripwire22

Lovely track - not much more to say than that really ^^ very smooth piece, great vocals, sounds awesome :)

@The BreadMan

Interesting... - erm, I'll leave it at that ;)

@zonetrooper5

Solid track! - Great vibes, very DMZ inspired methinks, sub is spot on, great sounds on the high end and percussion to match, only thing i don't really like is that bassline, the flanged one i think... whole track would sound better w/o it imo :) otherwise fantastic!

Right... and here's mine :)

cheers guys :)

EX > Diggin that vibe dude, makes me wanna drive through the city nights with that bumpin, haha
Hendrix > I agree with some other stuff, that intro is pretty slick, but I'm not feeling the main bassline.
Trip and Kaiori > I'm definitely not low right now, and that tune's got some pure vibes, guys
BreadMan > I can appreciate the style, but it just ain't my cup of tea.
ZTroop > The track evolves really well, but I don't really like that midrange bass sound that kicks in--besides that, its trippy as hell
and TM > The air and atmosphere in the track feels great, and the bass rubs me in all the right places, chill tune

Anyway, with my song--I'm pretty new, and I'm mixing on some 80's house speakers and best buy headphones haha, I need all the help I can get. Would you guys recommend anything in particular to alter the bassline? I was kind of going for a west coast groove to drive to, kinda like dubstep meets Dre or something :roll: Because I have to listen to dubstep while driving because my shitty 30 y/o sonys dont have ANY BASS.

And I like bass :cry:

Really liking this man, it's quite nice. The vocal samples are great. If I had one qualm, it would be the vocal just before the drop. The silence before the drop seems too long.

mate the intro is absolutely superb. Really nice soundscape and the lead synth has a really beautiful delay. The bass also fits really well. I feel however that the first drop's synth doesn't work as well as the second one which I feel would work really well with the intro. Of course, just my 2c :)
