Ripping Vocals

Post by HatchetDown » Thu Aug 05, 2010 9:14 pm

Does anyone know if there's a way to take the vocals from a track. I've been searching for a capella "Let's Live For Today" by the Grass Roots but no luck as of yet. I was told there are some tricks on FL to do it but nobody seems to really know what the hell they're talking about.

no there are no real tricks to ripping an acapella besides phase inverting an instrumental of the track and layering that, which results in artifacts usually, eqing and filtering
if there isn't an acapella avail from the session you're pretty much assed out for a clean sounding version

On the really old tracks you can actually pan left and right and hear the vocal on one side and the beat on the other. You will still get some of the beat behind the vocal but you can cover it up easily.

I'm looking for the acapella from The Wanted, but any attempts at making it myself will result in a poor vocal for the track so I'll leave it.
