I must admit I do not visit that part of the forum that often. I will change that though.
Thanks for the headsup.

I noticed this too, was ever since the crash fosho.
Now the only activity basically is new topics and bumps, its a shame because it used to get alot of new listeners but now it's just dead.

THIS ^
plus everyone and their gran is making dubstep these days (there are currently over 15.3 million people who call themselves 'dubstep producers', and that's just in the UK) so obviously you have to trawl through tons of shite to find anything good and then, as mentioned above, most people are lazy stnuc who wont even bother writing a response

look in the production section-- every month we do 'finished tunes for feedback' and 'works in progress for feedback' threads. we average about a page a day (per thread) of submissions in them.

Lots of great tunes in there, and lots of constructive criticism. one of my favorite (organic, forum-grown) things about dsf. dig a little bit deeper and you'll find recently-released artists sharing their earlier works a few months back.

the dubs section of DSF was the starting point of some very serious producers; off the top of my head, the first i'd ever heard of DZ and XI was in there, and now they're running things. I definitely remember various venerated dubsteppers offering their 2 cents on tunes in '06, '07... but times have changed.

As was said before, there's a huge influx of folks chasing the biggest tunes of the moment, and it makes the dubs section unfortunately a bit less than compelling-- young producers w/ zero connections broadcasting their works to the wind. the threads in the production forum are essentially self-policed, and folks know they're going to get feedback; thus, we get the better tunes :Y:

dude where did you get 15.3 million people from? if i remember correctly (and i might not) there are 60 million people in the uk. i doubt 1/4 of them are dubstep producers..

either that or i don't understand sarcasm this early in the morning.

well there's about 62 million people in the uk and approx 9.5% of them are either making dubstep or at least attempting to. perhaps you've underestimated how popular the genre has become

where did you get the info that 9.5% of the population are making dubstep? i know its getting more popular, but i doubt that many people make dubstep, do 15.3 million people even listen to dubstep?

I use to comment on peeps tunes and post a few of mine. Virtually impossible to get any feedback so not for me. I don't mind people hating or even constructive criticism. Sorry too many selfish takers on the dubs section. Very dissapointing.
