Cut down on the weed for a while man... smoking over a longer period fucks you up.

There's no point being hung up on who you think you are, who's to say.

Enjoy it while it lasts man! Could be the subtle twang of lusting more towards experiences rather than joy brought on by possessions and their uses/Sometimes the mind can become hazy and perillious if everything feels solid, lucid and reliable like a set of crutches... Sometimes all the visceral feelings want is to kick it away and crawl towards some better form of investing in nostalgia
Never worry though, we're male. We get a mid life crisis based around young girls and motorbikes, so the future is never bleak when you're armed with a penis

this'll make you feel yourself
for real though, it just happens every once in a while, i feel the same way once a year or so. also, drink chamomile tea before you plan on going to bed, that should knock you out.

Sleep issues can fuck you up mentally
fucked up mental situation can fuck your sleep up
need to sort out which you're suffering from and address it accordingly

Re: really not feeling myself right now
I think the important thing is realising that you might be going through a change. Sometimes you may decide that this "new" you is the way to be, other times it isn't (and it takes a while to readjust back to the old you). But at least you know and have a chance to make a choice. Some people change completely without even realising.
It's part of getting older. You probably briefly or subconsciously wondered recently about a What If situation. Or had a moment of disillusionment about something.
Of course, you could also just be losing your mind.

keep doing what it is that makes you happy, and if it doesnt work try new things.
When i felt like this, i was luckily moving away to university.... and got really a lot more involved with my music and promotions... made me a much happier person.

Re: really not feeling myself right now
pistons i been going through the exact same kinda thing, and it is pretty shit i gotta say - led to all kinds of stupid decisions and stuff that i know my usual self would have been pretty horrified at. i find myself doing stupid things and wondering why i dont feel worse about them, and its pretty fucked. brains are gay.

Jon,
Listen to this:
...and other songs about the same artist. Preferably in headphones. Reflect on what is exactly the issue.
I used to be loud and cheery as a child when I was growing up, the funniest kid in my class, and now I'm more of a serious, realistic, shy person with some surge of humor but more or less reflecting on the 'risk' of certain situations, especially when it all relates to money. It's almost as if my personality has gone the wrong way down the spectrum. I blame it on getting a job at such an early age and growing up - even though I'm not even halfway there as some of the people on this forum.
I never finished college, or went to University, I guess thats when it all changed, when I decided to choose my direction for adulthood.
I probably wouldn't change the path I've walked considering what I've managed to achieve the past five years.
Don't fight the change.

Re: really not feeling myself right now
few pieces of advice:
-regulate your sleep cycle. very important (as pkay mentioned) - 8 hrs a day, no more, no less... set up a routine where you go through familiar motions before you lie down, it will help you fall asleep faster.
-fix your diet if it's off... food issues can make you feel really funny... if you have waves of depression, try supplementing your diet with Omega-3 Fish Oil capsules (seriously, they work for me... one in the morning and im calm and focused all day)... or if in a severe case start St. John's Wort (but it takes a couple weeks of dosing to be effective)
-only remember good things from the past, never focus/dwell on anything negative that's already happened.
-take time (10-30 minutes) out of your day to meditate, or even just to quietly sit somewhere and organize your thoughts
-keep a journal? i know it sounds cheesy but sometimes writing down what bothers you can be an easy way to overcome them

Don't even know what you look like and we've both been to the same raves and on this board for a very long time.

Re: really not feeling myself right now
Sleep is ridiculously important to your mental and physical well being...
If the lack of sleep is from standard candle burning...then have a sensible couple of weeks, and you'll be back to normal.
If the lack of sleep is somewhat inexplicable, then it can be a kind of chicken & egg...
Get your sleep pattern back on track and take it from there.
