I agree that getting a tattoo like that is silly but then maybe the work you're going into doesn't require you to look "professional"
I don't get why people cover shit for job interviews and then reveal it later.

The best thing you can do is be yourself, with a little bit of ass licking if it is any decent sort of job.

I cant remember who said it but some well known well regarded artist one said "if you truly are artist, you wont have to tell people that you are" or somthing along those lines, and I think its really true.

I see all these hipsters and people who try to dress "different" and write "THINK ORIGINAL DO YOUR OWN THING" in their bio's on facebook and think "fuck what a blind douche".

Yeh, I dress normal and have no tattoos. I have medium length hair for a bloke and typical student side fringe. But anyone who knows me even slightly personally knows im always doing my own thing.

I actually prefer to blend in on day to day basis. Seen many a unlucky guy be in the wrong place at the wrong time and get abuse for the way they dress.

fuck getting any job where ya cant have a tattoo!! over here tattoos are a cultural thing, ya dont find many people who dont have any.
yea i have my hands done & numerous other places... even if some are shit, there are still memories of times & places. to have your face tatted in traditional ta moko is the shit man, then there are the leg & ass designs.
ben harpur has a traditional designed back piece.
behind the ears & necks seem to be a norm nowadays.
mind you... i think my city is the most tattoed places per capita in the world(well, we used to be).

"Oh I didn't know you had a tattoo?"

"Yeah I covered it up for the interview."

"Oh i see, let's have a look then," *pause* "What does it mean?"

"Means I'm a fucking retard and obviously embarrassed about it that I actually covered it up in the first place because it was a stupid mistake and I'm not proud of it."

You should get a job, then a tattoo...

My sister's mate decided to tattoo the names of his daughters across his wrists. He now goes into work every day with plasters right across his wrists looking like he permanently self harms.

To be completely honest, a stupid tattoo will be stupid no matter where you put it.

in the lines of the last posts:
check George Nuku out, his work is amazing, his ideas are very forward thinking but with no disrespect to his traditions (that goes for his work as an artists aswell as his lifestyle)

The excuse about regretting it when you old is bollox though.

As if you care what you look like when your old. You'll be wearing comfortable clothes and goingon SAGA Holidays with some wringly old women.

Everyone should stop being so angry.

Image is a representation of self..Tattoos look amazing when they suit the person and they've been done for art, culture, representation or personal significance. Same as everything else, they look terrible when picked out of a book or done for fashion... They're not going to look bad/you're not going to regret them if you had them done for a real reason though..

Neck/hand tattoos look amazing if done right.. One of the fittest guys I knew had almost his entire upper body (minus the face) and legs tattooed :).. People shouldn't be discriminated against because they're proud of their image..

Should add that tramp stamps are ALWAYS wrong haha :). Not because it's a tattoo or where it's placed, but as they're some shit "tribal" design picked from a board and done to attempt to look "edgy", not for a real reason.

Have you not been lucky enough to see people with their date of birth tattooed on their necks? Im sure they believe it will act as proof enough when buying cheap booze and cigarettes.

Check my ID yo...

Why not decorate the skin wherever pleases. Also it's quite clever having aspects that mean first impressions can whittle away small minded miserable nerds, saves you the ballache of ending up drinking with some twat called Brian who studies accounting

EDIT: To virgin trotsky, birds like confidence and anything's a tool to show it. Ain't how good it is, it's how good you project it
