Dubstep with scratching

Post by skankinlion » Mon Aug 09, 2010 8:47 pm

Has anyone heard this Rebel Sonix DJ mix??

Its the best Ive heard. Ive never heard anyone scratching on dubstep and it has loads of acapellas and samples over the top. The mixing is really tight as well.

Well worth a download from their Soundcloud. Its the perfect party dubstep mix.

Just given this a listen, I quite like it. Didn't like the idea of scratching with dubstep at first but It's not as bad as I thought it would be :) Got it on the download now. :)

im a scratch DJ myself and have not had as much luck with dubstep. its either too fast or too slow to be easy to do the typical scratches over (eg flare, crab, etc.) big up to anyone who is making it sound good. that craze video is absolutely bonkers.

I love this rebel mix - got it off their soundcloud a while ago. Like the way there are big tracks on there but they have done something different with them.

Saw them at Glastonbury this year and they blew me away. It's good when u see a producer u rate mixing for the first time and they smash it. They were doing live visuals at the same time. Proper show! :D

Yeh that Rebel Sonix mix is Doap!

If you are into the idea of dubstep and skratching then peep this Napalm Rockets mix by Mix Master Mike availible for free download on his website!
http://mixmastermike.com/_downloads/NaPALM_ROCKETS.zip

There is also a tune by Matty G called The Scratch The Bass and it has skratching on it.

BTW,if you happen to live in the LA area, you can see live skratching to dubstep every weds at Low End Theory! Gaslamp Killer and D-Styles are both residents and they skratch to dubstep all the time! D-Styles is a very close friend of mine and I know for a fact that he is into the idea of collaborating with Dubstep producers on a tune. So if you are a producer and you want the very best skratches on your tune, then I highly reccomend you get ahold of him!

Z-Trip is another one to watch cause he is on the dubstep skratching tip too.

Basically all the sick Turntablist/Skratch/Party Rocking DJ's that have become fans of Dubstep, are all going to adapt it to their style of DJ'ing.

P.S. Get ready for a Skratch Piklz reunion!!!!!!!!!!

I would love a skratch piklz reunion. i think i would explode.
