Capture pt wrote: Loving the synthesis here, id love to know how you make the synth playing the lower notes. sounds like it has some percussive element to the start of it.

my only suggestion is that clap you used for the snare. its too... dunno, doesnt fit with the vibe (for me). have you tried using a filtered snare, at a lower volume so it sits within the mix rather ontop? id love to hear this track with more techy drums, rather than the standard snare on 3rd. but thats just me.

NOW, for me.

Excuse the mixdown. Havnt looked at it propperly yet. My main concern in the whole "concept" of the track, the mid section. I wanted somthing with a bit of techno influence, but not sure I've got the transitions and/or feel of the track as a whole down. Feedback would be sooper dooper.
I believe it was, uh, the 1991 preset in Massive, lo-passed and with the 'noise' taken out * blush* ( not usually one for presets, but y'know... if it works it works, haha)
But yeah, you're right about the clap. I'd stuck some short stereo delay on it, and it ended up a bit thin.
Cheers for the feedback though. I'm seriously liking the stabs, and bass elements in your mix, man. Can really vibe off it. Nice to hear something that ain't a blatent Daxision copy

Obviously i need to re-record the guitar, the only mic i had available was a built in one on the laptop. Would love any other feedback though.
I'm feelin it the laptop mic feels like it gives it a more grungy scary feel, i'm not really feelin the bass drum though. good job mate

@Capture pt: Really like the vibe of this track!

@Krave: Really diggin the Sigur Ros sampling on "museum-of-memories" keep it up!

@JemGrover: Loving Sirens dude, Ive been paying attention to the progress of that track for awhile now, can't wait to hear the final product!

Here is my Work in Progress:
Soundcloud

I am kinda got stuck after I added the congas.

Some Notes: I know it repeats a lot when the congas come in I made it repeat that long so people could listen to it longer to possible have a better idea of what could possibly be added. Also No loop samples were used, all my own notation!

yeah a subbass is really all you need for this and maybe a drop in the middle where the wobble is other than that solid track!

@Nicorisone: Like the minimal vibes on intro on that one and the congas are very relaxing, some nice melodies/instruments too going on there, really feeling the ethnic instruments in peoples' productions at the minute

@Lazure: Nice track man, relaxing and sombre

@Reignz: That bassline is intense, nice track so far

I'd add a little more snap and depth to the snare.. to me it seems like a burst of noise! Try layering it with an acoustic sample.. and a more "snappy" sample! other than that everything seemed alright!

@Vacant: Liking how this is sounding. Love the synth at the start, sounds fun :D Like, videogame sound wise. Pretty cool. Love the buildup, loving the bass. Looking forward to seeing where this goes mate!

@NICORISONE: Sounds nice man, somewhat oriental :D Really liking the melody in this. The congas fit this so well. Cant wait to see what this one turns out like either :D

Thanks for the comments everyone, every little helps. I'm still completly new to all this, and I am still yet to finish a track. Since I started producing, I've only made a couple of WIP's, this being my best so far. So every piece of advice is much appriciated.

Took on board your comments, and this is what I have now. I've added some sub bass, some strings, little bit of brass and just one or two fills. Still far from finished, but sounds better IMO:

@Jaydot: Like the feel of the track, love the drums, the little glitches, and quite like the vocal sample in there too :D I just wish the bassline was heavier. I think it would sound better if it was in my opinion. Then again, thats only one persons opinion. Make it how you want it to sound :D
