I think the basic idea is great, skweeish or funkish or whatever...
But if i were you, i would do some more knob tweaking to make all those synth and drum sounds more unique. And play with the drums more so it's not just loopin.
Put some claps out there to double the snare just a hint offbeat. Go crazy with shakers or cabasas. And let us hear what you came up with! :D

thanks man, I think I'm going to change up the chord synths alot, that was the last line I added to it and upon giving it a few more listens I liked it a lot more when the bass drove it. The drums actually only loop twice, and I tried to keep it unquantized and loose.

anyway thanks for giving it a listen =)

@ honey d : i agree with the others, you really got a solid funky groove going on with this track, just automate a few FX on it so it doesnt sound so dry. i think the chords fit perfectly, they just sound a bit dry...

@ broke-n : i like the overall vibe of your track but i think you should add things here and there like drum fills and whatnot to keep it interesting throughout, also i'm not too sure about the piano chords in the intro and outro, they seem a bit out of place to me... maybe it comes down to personal taste tho

@ james hk : this one hits the right spot for me, proper downtempo vibes just like i love, it made my lady ask what was playing too so in my book that means you're deffo on to something :D

if anyone want to check my entry for the glitch mob remix competition:

note the contest is one of these "have the most people favoriting your track" business so if you have a soundcloud account and like it enough to favorite it, be kind and help a fellow producer :t:

Hey you guys!

I don't really post up here much anymore because I've been spending most of my time working on my own productions and flirting with whatever style I feel like at any given moment. I call my stuff "Beats Me" usually because all I know is that it's music with drums and bass that usually hovers between 80 and 115. But lately I've been feeling not only skweee and glitch and experimental hip hop, but also ambient and juke. So my music is a mix of all of those basically.

I just finished writing an audio story about artists and that's why I'm sharing it. You can download it for free and dance barefoot to it at sunrise. In fact, I'd really like it if you did.

Cheers!

think this is a tune man, main problem for me is the drums, there a bit just.. kick snare kick snarey

(not that thats bad, but its a bit too unnatural)

an as jkrl said, work a lil on the synths, its got that funky sound but its very generic

Whitebread was cool I liked the raw vibe but the little pockets of silence in between the samples are a little awkward to me, could just be preference on that though

Set-Up is beautiful. I really like the ambience of it and the bass side chaining the talking part. A lot of it sounds like field recordings (or maybe just samples?) but I wanna get one for exactly the same kinda mood that you created.

Low Fidelity funk is another really raw one and true to it's name. the recordings at the end add a nice moodiness to me as well, the silence afterwards and the tape getting pulled out, it's a nice touch

Agoraphobia is nice but I think without the breathing and whispered voices it might not stand on it's own so well. I've been liking the ambient stuff you put in the background but in the last tracks it was always the icing on top but this one it seems to be a large percent of what keeps my conscious ear on it (if that makes sense)

Who Knew is cool cause it's unquantized which can be really good but I dunno if you're in front of the beat instead of behind or what but it sounds more like cramped unquantized as apposed to relaxed unquantized, I dunno if that's the feel you were going for but I would have liked it to be a little more loose.

Is Superfly Shit a Tank! sample or am I loco?

Anyway I really liked the tracks, keep up the hip hop stuff for sure
