i sample noises from when i shit in other peoples houses
Re: Dubstep -without midrange wobble
Future garage is what I'm feeling now. I though the OP was talking about the darker, dubby kind of dubstep and like someone said that sort of sound is rare these days, I made a thread on it once.
On the other hand if you're talking about dubstep without wobble then I listen to that much generic wobble these days it's hard to distinguish between what wobbles and what doesn't these days.....it sorta all morphs into one,

Re: Dubstep -without midrange wobble
Just read the responses and found them interesting. I think a few of you got the vibe i meant i.e mala, breakage, darqwan, toasty etc.
I just find alot of the midrange wobble stuff generic. In regards to future garage, yeah thats good and it will be interesting to see how it goes, but i still love the early style dubby sound that morphed out out of garage.
I suppose i was the same when jungle changed to drum and bass. I prefered the early darker sound to the, in my humble op, over produced soulless pap.

Soulless?? I think not. There are still people making good drum & bass, as are there still those making good dubstep. You just have to hunt for it dude.
Re: Dubstep -without midrange wobble
Basic A brings up quite a cool idea. I know a lot of people wont like it and then there's those who'll be like 'lolwut, i don't stick to a genre and anyway dubstep shouldn't be defined lolz', but you could write up a thread with a list of regulars on the production forum, and then the feel that they're going for. Deep, experimental, brostep etc. in the same format that Basic did. Would be cool to flick through a certain type of dubstep and see all the regs who're repping it.

I prefer old school tunes, you know with heavy bass and actual step to the drums, over predictable midrange wobble dubstep anyday
Has any one got any sugestions for current artists to try who are going back to the true dark croydon sound?
I got wobbles but they are low passed and dark.
Don’t worry about people stealing an idea. If it’s original, you will have to ram it down their throats.
Re: Dubstep -without midrange wobble
They are not dark and they are mid range:/wayoftheworld wrote:there's plenty of dark, non-boring wobblers out there: Goth Trad, Emalkay, Reso, Akira Kiteshi
as for the most recent, i can't help ya much. i'm a bit out of the loop as they say
Emalkay and Trad were good but now have turned into a bunch of mid range cheesers.

Re: Dubstep -without midrange wobble
Everyone who was good at making the early stuff is now chasing money no doubt so a lot of them are pushing out mid range rubbish but if you dig deep the old flava is still there.OlzaMK wrote:Only thing that comes to mind is Mala and Loefah right now
Skream, Oris Jay, Horsepower, Hatcha, K Minds, Luke Envoy, D1, Kromestar, Anti Serum, Komunazmuk, Cyrus.
