£10 Bag - 256kbps mp3. Feedback appreciated! cheers

Post by __________ » Tue Mar 06, 2007 6:29 pm

Yo I've only just joined up but I've been looking round the site a bit recently and there's some interesting and useful shit on here. Only recently got into dubstep, and I had an intense urge to try making some cos I was really feeling the dubstep sounds (especially Digital Mystiks - Earth Run Red that tune is ruuuude).

This is my second attempt at making some dubstep, my first being last night. Didn't take long to make (bout 1 1/2 hours), I used the ymVST synth for the bass and the Pro 53 for the few other parts. 808 and 909 on drums although you probably guessed that. The other samples we recorded at college, like whacking a sign with a drumstick in the fire escape, making some phat reverb snare sound.

I'd really appreciate some feedback on how it sounds and if I'm going in the right direction. The one thing I'd say now I listen to it on my monitors at home is that maybe the bassline needs upping? I know there's some propah knowledgable people on here (Misk you make some phat tunes, and boxcartproductions too, off the top of me head) and 90% of you people most likely know a shitload more than me, so please have a listen and tell me what you think of it and what else could be added or if its good as it is.

Cheeeeeeeeeeeerrrs!!!

If anyone wants a 320 I'll be happy to oblige, reckon it might be suitable for a set opener.

Do you want free mastering or pay/pirate?
http://www.sadglad.com/freevstplugins6.html is a good place to start for free stuff.
But otherwise PSP vintage warmer is great, or T-Racks, BBE Sonic Maximizer or Waves Ultamaximiser (expensive) All these are good.
And yes i'll take a 320 mate

Thanks very much people, I remixed the tune yesterday and got the Vintage Warmer on the case, now the mix is kicking the fuck out!

Cheers for the good plugins, I don't have a problem with piracy (I 'test' most of my software before I cough up for it).

The 320 is here: http://www.sendspace.com/file/wb73ww

Pretty much the same as the original but without the 909 bongos in the intro.

Anyone with a subwoofer comment on how it now holds up?

enjoy
