lovely lovely pads and percussion, are the pads sampled or did you make them yourself?
great ambience with the fast percussion
would love a copy of that :)

@Loud Flavor
first 16 bars after drop are nice to hear, but after that it's kina of the same and is getting boring....
but that is alot with tear out tunes, because if your in a club your just going nuts on the bass/drums and not so much on the production it self(I dunno if this makes sense to you? lol)

@Hexa-dB
your production sounds good, I mean the mixdown, the wobble synth sound itself sounds nice but there is no real melody? well there is but there are to many little wobbles going on to really focuse on the track, I like the arrangement of the track though....the wobble melodie on the first 4 bars I like the most

the same is for the second drop, you know how to make your sounds but I don't like the melodies, sick sounds though...I like the crazy shit:)

well here is my WIP, something totally different this time
it's supposed to be a good danceable track for in a club with a happy vibe:

bouncy jump around tune with african tribe rituals:)

@dav.id I really liked that, good stuff. In the intro I felt that the hats were a bit too abrasive but it all came together after the drop. Only criticism is that the main synth gets a tiny bit overpowering around the 1.10 mark. It all ends a bit abruptly as well. It reminds me of the stuff they play in some of the coffee shops in Amsterdam :o

Soundcloud<<<<<< latest WIP, no real structure just a basic bassline to start things rolling, not mixed down either.

I know I haven't left feedback, but 9 times out of 10 I do...I will leave feedback in a little bit on five tracks my laptop is being slow at the moment..

Thanks. 8)

@ a-part: That's something different there and I think it works well, I'd dance to that in a club :)

@samkablamm: That's really chill, takes a little while for the bass to kick in, I think when it does add some extra percs for an added element y'know? I'd quite like a copy of the finished track if there's any going.

@redjuan: Nice mate, all the elements work well, especially liking the pads. Good vibes on it.

No probs... also tip for ya stick the tags Soundcloud at either side of your track so Soundcloud to embed it.

samkablaam wrote:@ Jayzest - like the vibe. Really easy to chill out to. Hi hats need some variation - listen to kryptic minds hi hats! Actually, most things need some modulation stuff - the ch ch ch thing that goes throughout too.

@step correct - cool, feel you've taken all the hf out of your wobble. i dont like all that midrange shit, but yours just sounds a bit dull. pretty cool though, hard to find criticism. oh... the crash cymbal sounds a bit weak.

@budsteq - give feedback on someone elses first

@goldorak - cool sound. not too keen on the off beat weird synth thing. maybe just a bit to loud. but then, im only on earphones, so dont take my word for that. like the snare :) dont have much criticism tbh

@joekool - feel like it doesnt really go anywhere... but i guess if its just for spittin over, then thats alright. the high pitched synths a bit annoyin as well. the kick is quite clicky, dunno if thats some eq or a gate or something.

@redjuan - sounds cool. def needs some variation in the chords, but atomspherically etc. its bare sick.

@apart - jokes samples. erm, need some variation on the rhythm and melody. pretty sick tho. the lead synth needs some fattening up. chorus, distortion or something. doesnt hit hard enough when it drops.

@theagonist - sounds well mixed even atm. would say sort out the levels on the intro so that your peak is at the drop. maybe fatten up the rim shot you use too.

Heres mine, its definitely WIP so ANY comments welcome....

@jaydot I like the track, good build up and sample but i think the drop would sound better without the (i think its strings) sample and maybe try some more harsh hi hats for that heavy sound

@dav.id Really like this track! the vocal sample sounds to me like it just needs something else, try out some effects on it maybe?

@nruen Nice glitchyness. I'd personally change the kick sample and the mid/high synth thats panned to the right is a bit muddy, too much rvrb maybe. i love the crazy synth bit in the breakdown at about 2 mins

well here's a track i started the other day, feedback would be nice its a bit different a quite chilled out 2 steppy rimshotty thing

my first offering to the Dubstep forum family :)

alright guys, started this today so it's a very rough idea, just stuck on where to take it, got my drum pattern sorted after piano stops but so stuck as to what to bring in, might have just fried my brain today, who knows...

feedback/comments would be wicked, thanks everyone !

ok, I'm not much good at giving feedback because I tend to think "Who am I to tell people what's good?". I'm quite new to the whole dubstep thing so my comments may be totally off. I'm also listening through headphones (AKG K270s) which isn't ideal.

goldorak - bauhaus -- like the vocal sample, is there something clicky in the snare just after initial transient? clipping? Slightly nice for my taste though, it felt like it needed some more attitude maybe? Or maybe that's just my preferences :)

Remokari - o_o -- wow mega bitcrushing. i'd like to hear it on a big system. Interesting though, I would never have the guts to do anything that harsh.

Breadman - dogsdayafternoon - Damn you for making me LOL - love that sample. Just listened to the massive and non-massive versions. I prefer the massive version. I see what people mean about the percussion at the start but it kind of works with the sort of sleazy vocal sample. (update: listened to the updated one, I like the synth sounds from around 1m 10 but I think I preferred the original intro! I'm probably in a minority there though)

warble - wabble-dubstep-ft-adi-drowing-wip-ex01 - Nice! The main drumloop might benefit from some more percussion or variation in the beat?

JemGrover - protocol-9-resample-bass-practice - I liked the sense of space in this, it's got a really nice groove to it.

Geeza - drop-the-world-dubstep-remix-wip - The mix seems quite er.. 'dense', like everything louder than everything else?. Some nice bits in there though. Just some random ideas, but maybe gate/tremelo the main synth bit to give a bit of space for the drums? Also needs a more prominent bassline (something with more mids to go with the sub?)

budsteq - rough unfinished track - Nice and er.. dubby! :) I can't help thinking a nice big spring reverb snare now & again would be nice heh

Loud Flavor - understand - I like this one, the bleepy synth works well with that bass (I can never get melodic synths to sound right so I'm envious). One slight criticism is that maybe that bass sound is a tiny bit too high in the mix for my taste (possibly)

Jack-a-tron - I enjoyed this. Only thing I can think of is I'd maybe have held back the sub bass in the intro until the drop?

redjuan - control them own them clip - Gorgeous. Only thing I wasn't too sure about was the vocal sound that comes in around 2m but that's because it reminded me slightly of Enigma/Enya/Something I can't quite remember (not that there's anything wrong with that!)

I've taken some of the feedback from an earlier version of this track and tweaked it slightly (less bitcrushing on the bass, less intricate wobbling with more repetition, added percussion loop in one area, re-exported with the missing ending and given it a new title). I should probably put this in the Finished Tracks thread as I'm not doing any more to it.

@sam kablaam, i really like the smooth piano / heartbeat sound intro with the well sliced vocals. could definitely benefit from some snappy future garage 2step beats with that snare on the 16th beat (one hit early). something along the lines of skreams Pearl's Dream (bat for lashes) remix beats, either before or after the drop.
with so much space like this a dub snare with a long triplet or straight 16th delay would fit nicely incidentally. also i like the quarter-step snare in the main part near the end. this one was a breath of fresh air!!

@jaydot, sick intro man, these are some war beats. fucking sick drop. i like it a lot. if you're using massive, try using the stepper as an A/B switch between effects to change up that dirty triplet bass machine gun just a little bit. Also when you do your big square slides, try reesing it out a bit by just barely increasing the pitch cutoff slider under the voicing tab, and maybe use an blue envelope tab on the pitch envelope just beside the WT-position knob, having it come up to the note and just fall off of it for a sweet bending and falling effect not unlike a guitar. Sweet ass intro though, i can't wait to hear this one at completion.

@Kynch, nice work on the intro, the atmosphere is deep and fresh, possibly a LITTLE bit too much white noise. bring down the cymbals a bunch, they don't need to be too loud to be heard. maybe the same for the snare, this kind of tune doesn't need such a loud one. i'm enjoying the bass and synth work, especially on the the breakdown. nice bongo loops. remember to roll off extreme highs and lows on anything that doesn't need it with an autofilter or EQ, clears out your mix a bunch. my ears want to hear a deeper sub layered underneath, but thats up to you. also, the organ/synth chords on the 1 beat get a little too constant later on, maybe introduce a pattern with a second similar organy sound, or even a lush pad sound to space it out, and just steal half of the chord hits from the original and put it on the new channel.
Remember to click the soundcloud button above the text reply box, and just ctrl+v in your link. easiest way to post a sc player not a link.

ok i added a bunch more sub bass and changed a few incidentals, hoping this is the last time i'm posting this ...
again, cheers big time on all the feedback guys

Really clean mix, man. I'm liking the ambiance of it all. The synth-y bass part is awesome- It's got a real nice, professional arrangement.I would like to hear more 1/12 (Off-beat?) wobbles, though- They seem to really vibe with tracks as opposed to just following the beat, y'know? And maybe some slightly harder percs to stand out every now and again.
Overall, should be proud of it

Hexa-dB
Cheers for the feedback. Sorta' revamped it and changed it up totaly now, though. But your track?
Mate.. What can I say? It's badass. Not really into a lot of the filthier tracks people post but it's such a crisp mix. Nice one.

Erebus-7
Great drums, nice sense of space... Obviously needs some background ambiance, I think. Something quit dissonant, without being too harsh would set it off nice. I can imagine it to be a real soundscape/cinematic track

Soundcloud's fucked this, and everything sounds muddier then it really is...
I totally re-started this. Critique away?
Soundcloud

Edit Tidied it up a bit with EQ. Levels might be off now as it's late at night, but curious to see the difference.
