Multitrack tape recorder

Post by minkay » Thu Aug 19, 2010 12:31 pm

Hey all... I use a tape recorder for a variety of reasons, mainly to get genuine tape hiss and what not...

I own a Yamaha MT-50, does anyone know how I could erase stuff I recorded on this 4 track? Whenever I record over something, it only adds to what is already recorded, it doesn't erase the previous recording.

please help :)

Might sound odd but turn the tape over?

As far as I know 4-tracks used both sides of the cassette. I think the full width is normally used for side a left, side a right, side b left and side b right. On a 4-track it uses each bit for a track (not sure how it manages stereo tracks, it's been ages since I used one).
No I'm not HXDB but I've been using this name since 1998. May change it if I think of something better
