Interesting, I don't get how it can be called intelligent though? It is quite well made, I must say.
GTFO with that bait batty picture though

I thought it was gonna be a joke of some boy band!

I get what you're saying but maybe you mean innovative? I would consider Boxcutter to be no smarter than, say, Caspa. But Boxcutter does something different with the dubstep sound, and for that reason I would consider him to be more innovative than the more by the book dubstep people.
I see where intelligence comes into it, as the original idea with IDM was to suggest that it was something more than music to get fucked up to (even though the biggest name artists associated with it completely disregarded the term) . I suppose 'intelligent' dubstep is bound to happen as a product of IDM.
Its just a name really, the 'I' could easily have meant 'introspective' and gotten the same point accross. Anyway, it seems to always be listeners/media who invent these silly genres. I doubt Boxcutter ever refers to his stuff as 'intelligent'.

Lets be honest though you're never gonna get anyone to admit to listening to "dumb" dubstep.

Did intelligent dnb go past all you lot then? He's not referring to it in the literal sense, it's a word that's coined (by himself or otherwise, not the first time I've heard it used) to describe a style or vibe.
