dude wtf! what cool about thàt? dying without realizing it!?

Whats the point in dying if you cant make people still living really upset?

When I die I'm going to go for the ultimate melodrama. I'm having sad songs played at my funeral, no ironic/"it suits his character" bullshit party songs. Strings and salty tears.

To be quite honest, the couple of times I've ever contemplated suicide is me going "holy shit, I wander what it'll be like to be a ghost".

If you're right, then - fuck - you're a ghost. If you're wrong, then well, you're probably not going to be capable of caring anymore.

Scared without a doubt, I can't comprehend what nothing is...there has to be something.

And it really fucks me over knowing that life will go on as usual, even when I'm not here.

Only thing I'm gonna regret when I die is not knowing how far the human can go. I mean, technology and all. I'm atheistic so I don't believe there's a life whatsoever after death. You're just dead and that's it, the void, you left your place for someone else to grow up ! Not a bad thing in itself, it's just natural that if billions of people have died before you, it happens to you too. On the other hand, I'm afraid to die alone.

I'm pretty terrified of dying. To the point that I've had panic attacks after thinking about. I think it has something to do with conditions of my youth.
It shakes me up quite hard, but it is getting better.

Studying philosophy and such makes me feel more at ease, especially Plato. I hope that as I grow older, I will become more comfortable with the whole thing. I greatly enjoy my life, and the giant question mark that is death leaves me uncomfortable.

That's why I avoid conspiracy theories and religious banter. If you bring them down to their cores, they are just playing off my fears.

I am an agnostic though. There has to be a higher power. Something created something, whether directly or indirectly.

i think when you die you get the option to live your life again, EXACTLY the same once again, down to every last detail, or to become nothing and cease existing in any shape or form.
what do you choose?

Live it again. I love the human experience too much to pass up such an opportunity.

Nietzsche postulates a hypothetical situation when you die called the Theory of Eternal Recurrence. It states that you know the value of your life if you accept willingly in death, that you'll live exactly the same life again.

at bottom its a weird idea that your life is an endless cycle, like most of what Nietzsche does people tend to look on the doom and gloom side of it - 'why the fuck would i want to repeat my life over and over again, that would be hellish'

but the core idea of it is that you should live your life in exactly the way that makes you happiest such that when you die, and repeat, you wont be scared and you wont wish anything any other way.

i think its a good way to live... few manage it

wouldnt mind living to a decent age then jumping out of a plane with out a parachute, just before life starts to deteriorate, like demensia and all that, would have a good 5 minutes of the best view in the world, then a quick painless death.

I'm making peace with the inevitable death of my love ones. Sometimes, I wish to die first, but after I travel a few more places I would like to experience. I used to be afraid of not being remembered (more than dying alone), but I have been a board member/trustee/sponsor of a scholarship organization at my old school in the Philippines. Having my name attached to the organization at this age of adulthood makes me very proud of my accomplishment and happy, and hopefully appreciated someday. I also have other projects with other schools. More than money or any material, I'd like to build relationships with the people I serve. I think that's the only way I will truly be remembered. Or write a good book. Meh. Anywho, yeah, I have accepted my death already and I am willing to go any time. :corndance:

I think people are more afraid of the unknown than of actual death. But since death would be a direct cause for one to experience the afterlife or non-existence, then the fear of it and the unknown are combined. Since you do not know what comes after death you fear death as well.

As for me? No, I'm not afraid of death in and of itself, no directly at least. It is inevitable at this current time. I'm afraid of what will cause my demise (whether from old age or otherwise). So I fear the unknown cause of death and maybe indirectly am afraid of death. But I do not fear for what be on the other side.
