i think i go with marsyas on this one as it sounds really muddy. the bassdrum isn't kicking at all and the snare isn't slapping me in the face. eq'ing and maybe some different drumsounds (better quality samples?)

but on the other handside also very interesting because soundwise it remembers me somehow of some monotonous minimal techno stuff with just a different beat... and maybe that's what you originally want to sound to be?!

from a minimal point of view i like what i hear. from a dubstep point of view not exactly what i've expected... :-)

BTW i only listened to the version on your myspace because i can't access yousendit now... so maybe the "special" myspace player has also something to do with...

thanks marty, its no secret that i'm influenced by minimal techno, and i am still sort of new with this, but i agree that i need to work on making my sounds fuller, punchier etc. but man on my monitors it doesnt sound muddy to me, if anything it sounds thin. i'm gonna reapproach a mix, and tweaking the sounds in about a week, see if that helps.. and i take "from a dubstep point of view not exactly what i've expected" as a compliment.
cheers

:D

I'm really feelin' the dubbyness!!!I like the fast delay on the rimshot!Very old school Jamaican dub.And I like the fact that it's not that formulaic,as in it's got it's own cool vibe!

I'd say it is a little muddy in the mix too.Personally,I'd add a little mid-range to the final eq,but that's just me.Overall,I would say it's a really fine dub! 8)
