Will this work??
OK, I am using a macbook pro right now. planning on using it for djing, but until i get a better mixer with an external soundcard it is impossible to monitor tracks and such with only one headphone output. I have a small beginner mixer right now (M audio x session Pro) and am wondering if I use a Usb to audio jack adapter such as this http://www.walmart.com/ip/Startech-Virt ... 7/14291556 if i will be able to use it with Torq, Deckadance or whatever so i can dj with my mixer and monitor tracks as well.
Has anyone done this or know if this will work? I dont really wanna go out there and buy it and find out this wont work. It should in theory im just wondering what you guys think

I'm not positive.. but..
I don't think so!
I think you need ONE soundcard that has enough I/Os for you!
I've never used torq but I don't think I've come across software that allows you to use two different soundcards at once.. I've never tried tho, so maybe I'm wrong

hmmmm.. I think your computer would read it as a separate soundcard.. If you could find one with 2 different stereo outs it'd work.. I don;t know about quality tho. Are you planning on playing out or just bedroom sets?carsonac wrote:what if i just got a usb to audio jack?? ya think?

Re: Will this work??
look into M-Audio Fast Track.. i had one before i started producing(..just to fuck around with garageband).. and it worked fine! I think the price has gone down also.
hmmm.. I'm not exactly sure if the headphones are a separate output or if they just mirror the RCA outputs.. you'd want to look into that, because you'll need two separate outs.
If not, I'm pretty sure the pro has separate outputs!
