ipad as a midid controller
soo i followed every step in all the online videos and tutorials i can find but i cant get ableton to pick up a midi signal from my ipad
if any one has figured it out ( or knows how to) would be awesome to know
Re: ipad as a midid controller
well what are you using to do it?
TouchOSC?
TouchOSC?
Re: ipad as a midid controller
yeah i downloaded touch osc and oscalator and when i run the osculator app its picking up a signal from my ipad but ableton doesn't recognize it :/
Re: ipad as a midid controller
Hmmm, I'm sorry, but I'm afraid I can't really help you out.
I use my iDevices by having TouchOSC run through PureData to turn it into MIDI data. I'm afraid I don't know how to use Osculator, nor do I know how to use Ableton.
I'd just look at this video and make sure you're doing everything similarly. Perhaps there's a small detail that you've missed.

Can't believe Griid still isn't our but that's what you want for ableton and iPad.

Re: ipad as a midid controller
Not sure if you've figured it out yet, but from what I understand touch OSC sends OSC data, which Ableton doesn't understand. You'll need something that converts the OSC data into MIDI data. I remember seeing a program that does this when I was looking at controlling traktor with an iPad, but I can't remember what it's called.Benza wrote:soo i followed every step in all the online videos and tutorials i can find but i cant get ableton to pick up a midi signal from my ipadif any one has figured it out ( or knows how to) would be awesome to know
