Baltimore brings in some pretty big artists every month or so with Steez Promo. You're right though, it is all filth which is kinda getting old. Where does Joe spin, I thought he was located in NY?

People that knock it now are just elitist hipsters that want to act like they don't like stuff as soon as it gets popular. Long live Dubstep!
we have pretty much the exact same story haha, just i'm in tempe

This. Though outside of spots here and there it's all tear out wobble bullshit. I played Quest's new tune for someone the other day and they said (with a straight face) "wow this is like progressive dubstep." After facepalming I explained how in the rest of the world we just call it "dubstep" and everything else they've been hearing is just shitty music.

Im in the Boston area and there is NO scene what so ever. I have like one friend who I got into it and know of maybe 2 or 3 kids who like the popular rusko & mt Eden type shit.

Most kids honestly think "techno" is too weird and only listen to lil wayne and other new rap artists. Basically whatever MTV throws at them. I really cant stand it. I'm just waiting for the day dubstep gets real big and more people start coming around to it. I'll be kinda pissed tbh if they start listening to it then.

Yeah, Steez basically is the scene. I can't think of any other promoters in the area. Joe Nice lives in the Baltimore area (he just moved outside the city) and plays semi-regularly in the area with various promoters. Just follow his twitter to find out when he's playing.

Its quite ironic for me cos im in south east london right on border of kent but my mates just dont listen to dubstep and know fuck all about it and my local club, well i say local its 35 mins away, but they dont play dubstep at all, its all about cheesy pop and RNB where im from and if it had to be any dubstep song it wud be In For The Kill

Thing is im not far from Croydon and obviously dubstep is huge there but its funny how much more popular dubstep is 30 mins in opposite direction.

:( i know, we get the big names as well but i've seen quite a few flyers with doctor p... namely gatecrasher which guarantees a shit lineup anyway. there's nowhere which has a soundsystem to match plastic people as well. no real big producers from brum either, as i said, mostly speed garage n shit

I was in Calgary until about a week ago, now Montreal.

Calgary seems like it gets its fair share of dubstep, just in the last year ive seen quite a few big names (Breakage, Headhunter, Rusko). I think Distance was here a little while ago as well. Joker was supposed to make an appearance but cancelled last minute. Shambhala always gets huge hype here too.

Not sure about Montreal, haven't seen anything yet, although Datsik and Flux Pavillion were playing on the night I flew in, so I assume theres a bit of a scene

I live in Liverpool, its well known but only the midrange artists. I only know a couple of people who know what 'real' dubstep is. Hatcha and Youngsta are coming here on 11th september, i doubt many people will go. People will be in for a shock when they hear Youngsta. I only know of a handful of people who know of DMZ and loefah, thats how narrow minded people are to listen to different styles :|. And im 16...these people are 18+

Well i live in Gants Hill, just outside East London. Everyone here has either heard of or listens to dubstep. The area is a grime/hip hop area. And since dubstep has some roots in grime, people know about it as grime artists have been doing tracks over dubstep tunes. The depth into which people are into dubstep is not that high. When people are asked about dubstep they tend to know bout rusko, skream and benga only. Also the only club in this town is called faces and it's an 'Essex' club so no dubstep there. I have to go into london to get to the raves.

Oh and I was camping in Anglesey the other day (Wales) and I heard Innocence and Rusko coming from a nearby tent.

Basically what other people from Birmingham have said. We have a very large bassline and speed garage scene but as far as dubstep is concerned its not that big unfortunately.

in my hometown bradford i know certain ppl know about dubstep, but mostly of the tearout/jump-up/commercial remix variety - i even remember someone saying they like dubstep @ home but not when they're out :u: .im just glad that I know ppl who are aware of whats going on.
thankfully surrounding cities (leeds/manchester) have alot more to ofer dubstep wise
