[LA] 9/11-BWOMP! "Positive" 1 Yr Anniversary - LA Warehouse

Post by sati » Wed Sep 01, 2010 7:50 pm

Hey everyone :)

It's been 1 year since we threw our 1st BWOMP! party. We're super excited to play and party on 9/11. We're going to have the whole BWOMP! crew and some very special guests... Dillon Francis, We Bang, Dumbsteppaz, and Sam XL.

We're also rockin out on the Pure Filth Soundsystem, so be prepared to have your skull rattling. :u:

See below for all the details including our lyrical guests and visual artists.

Hope to see you there!

For our 1 year on 9/11, we wanted to do something special. This is not about sides, religions, or politics. "POSITIVE" is about unity, awareness, and positivity during times of tragedy through art and music. Call it bass therapy. We have a cavalcade of sick b2b and 2x4 sets for you coming from all corners of LA.

We wanna thank everyone for supporting us over the last year. Now it's time to give back.

Featured Guests:

DILLON FRANCIS - (Plant Music)

Dillon Francis has been making waves as one of the top producer/DJs in LA. Constantly straddling the line between electro and dubstep, this guy isn't confined by cookie cutter bangers. His track "Take Me High" has been shooting up the charts and is currently at #16 on Beatport. His hit "Westside!" has been rinsed by the likes of Major Lazer and Will.I.Am, destroying huge crowds on many occassions. Signed to Plant Music last year, Dillon's dirty, funky electro-step tracks have been getting press from a grip of notable music blogs. You want to check this cat out. Do not sleep. Google him.

SAM XL - (Pure Filth)
http://purefilthla.com/

Sam XL (one half of the Professionals) can often be spotted wading through crowds of tiny-looking dancers between the floor and the booming Pure Filth sound system. Having been part of the scene for over 2 decades, Sam is no stranger to anyone in the bass scene. On top of DJ'ing and throwing events, he's owned two record stores including the infamous BEATNONSTOP, where he then co-founded the Temple of Boom. Though Sam's well known in LA for his BASSFACE parties, Sam is a DJ at heart and will be bringing the BWOMP with sick dubs guaranteed to knock your socks off.

THE DUMBSTEPPAZ - (Gone Jahmen Crew, Church)
http://soundcloud.com/dumbsteppaz

A dubstep producer/DJ trio out of Los Angeles, The Dumbsteppaz are known for their hard-hitting style of west coast dubstep. They always work their dancefloors into a frenzy, and their LA fans love them for it. In addition to being great talents, they are the nicest and most humble dudes you'll meet. Their Turnt Up EP is climbing Beatport's dubstep charts quickly, currently at #23. They first came out and supported us for our first monthly and killed it. It's our pleasure to bring the Dumbsteppaz back for our one year.

WE BANG - (Play Me Records)
http://soundcloud.com/webang

We Bang aka Greg Oerlemans is a producer from Santa Ana, California formed in 2009. Recently signed to Reid Speed's Play Me records with the release of the summer called "Summer Smash" available now on Beatport. Tunes Smash the floor peaked at #1 on dubstep charts and #32 over all genres. We Bang is simply a product of dance floor smashing music that will make you throw more bounce to the ounce. When he bangs, We Bang.

TRVST - (Rizo)
http://soundcloud.com/trvst

TRVST (prounced "Travesty") is a new addition to our friends the Rizo family, who's Summer of Bass party this past weekend popped off like a champagne bottle in Vegas. He put together a tasty mix that combines dubstep with some glitch hop heaters, exhibiting his ability to expand to multiple genres, in true BWOMP fashion. He will be making moves this next year and is bringing it proper.

and of course our MC's:
