Outlook Aftermath Topic

Post by plastician » Mon Sep 06, 2010 2:18 pm

I don't post here often anymore but I know how many of the punters / workers and DJ's will read this so just wanted to throw up a huge round of applause to everyone involved. If you were there in any respect whatsoever you played a part in what was an amazing weekender for me.

I've never seen anything like the crowd I played to on Thursday on Mungos. It was like an outer body experience, completely surreal. Was wicked to be able to play the crowd pleasing stuff mixed in with some old school grime, some deeper cuts and even managed to play 4 bits I've never played before, without any of the audience's energy levels even beginning to drop for a second. So just wanted to say thanks to all who were there really, the energy you brought to the mungo's arena rubbed off on me on a next level - totally made my whole weekend and its definitely a set I'll remember for the rest of my days.

True Tiger Boat party was equally dumb in the face. D Double E, Badness and P Money absolutely ripped the piss out of every tune I dropped in my special old school grime set.

I didn't hear a single bad set the whole time I was there. Whichever stage / boat / booth / beach I was stood at, not once did I think "i'm not feeling this, i'm going to wander to another stage". So sending props out to any DJ's or acts who spotted me in the vicinity of their performance out there.

I think Gentlemans Dub Club were next level. I always big those guys up but their performance on the main stage on Friday was something else. I'm sure anyone who saw it would agree they had the entire main arena skanking out and really set the tone for the rest of Friday night's shenanigans.

Just wanted to throw that out there really..... I'm probably one of the first people home from the weekend. Large up Hatcha the "Care Bear". Shouts out to my partner in ladder theft and stage dive from hell Skream. Big ups full Croydon crew in attendance at the press session on Saturday afternoon forcing vodkas down at 3 in the afternoon.

Big up Simon Scott, Jack Vagabondz, Joe Vagabondz, Nina at Artist Liaison and everyone else who was on hand to keep things organised for all of us during the weekend.

Got home finally... am too tired to write as much as you Plastician, but yeah it was perfection personified! The venue, the people, the tunes... EVERYTHING! I was there going mental at your set... it all turns a little blurry after that!!! I managed to do my early set in the Ballroom on saturday sober though, so at least I remember dmz clearly!

I never wanna take this wristband off!!! Why do we have to wait another whole year???!

This was possibly the best weekend of my life..ever

To much fun from start to end. There were way to many highlights to write about but some of them were:

Tectonic boat party - Pure vybs from start to finish. Keep your eyes out for the footage.

Hatcha updates via artwork - dailey dose of laughter.

Meeting everyone that supports my music and getdarker/tv

and mainly being on holiday with shit loads of friends

as plastician said - every single set smashed it what ever arena you was in.

Its gonna take alot of something to compete with this year...

Im going back to bed.

This was the best one yet, proper vibes all weekend, well organised and quality tunes from everyone involved.

A massive shout to Johnny,Jack, Liam and the rest of the crew for an outstanding time.

An extensive delve into Outlook 2010 coming from myself on RA in a week or so, so I won't go into to much detail, but the absolute standout act for me was Firehouse Soundsystem...so good I saw them twice!

Absolute baddness!

what a sick sick weekend, massive respect to all the production crew, never seen so many people working so hard to one goal! shame they probably didnt get to see as much of the festival as they wanted, but hopefully knowing that SO many people had such an amazing weekend makes up for it.
I think im going to have Outlook withdrawal symptoms, came back to shitty England where it was pissing it down, where everyone had a frown on their face, and now im stuck behind a computer, pretty much the complete opposite to the four days of the festival!
far too many djs to mention outstanding sets but Oneman, Night Owl, Pangea and Ben UFO all especially stood out. Wish I could remeber more of the weekend though, damn those little purple tokens that were so easy to spend!!!

edit: oh yeah and the beach bar was where it was at for me, pure vibes, switching it up between so many different genres, chimpo especially smacked it for me down there!

edit 2: does anyone know what that funky tune is with that aggressive wobble that speeds up at the begining and then evens off for about 8 bars I think. absoultely killed it!!

Damn it makes me depressed when I think about it! 2 days rest and I can do it all again!!

They want to make it bigger next year. I think there will have to be another campsite/beach system if that happens.

Who were those MCs before Chimpo I think? One of them was freestyling about people in the "sand-pit"...

oh my daze

Outlook 2010 was the best festival I've ever been to.

I played 2 boat parties [Bigger Than Barry + Swamp81] while I was out there. Both were insaaane! But the Swamp one took it for me, was my last night there and sent me off nicely!! The vibes on the boat were unreal and was great being surrounded by some of my best friends in the game.

The set i played in that circular ballroom in the Fort on Friday night was my favourite set of the year, and possibly ever. i had too much fun in there, was loving every minute of it [It seems that many of the other DJ's considered their sets to be one of the best they've ever played which is something amazing]

Big up Si, Jack Vagabondz and Ruth @ Artist Liason [who held the whole thing up in my eyes - give her a payrise!]

OH yeh out to mine and Plastician's crack head driver. "I smoke crack for 3 years. It is best"

Floating Points on the beach, Benji B, Roska, Distance, DMZ all killed it on Mungo's. When Haunted got dropped I'd never seen a pit go so mental!!!

And special mention to "Confusion DJ's" [i think??] who played on the beach on Friday afternoon. So good.

Roll on Outlook 2011 !!!!!!!!!
