Spot the error in this Mt Eden bio - or is it real?!

Post by 3rdeye » Fri Sep 10, 2010 2:51 am

I'm not usually one to potentially start a shitstorm, but saw this on my local forum and then again in the gigs section on here... surely there's a crude joke being played here, or just misinformation?

I would post in the main section but think it would cause less of a ruckus if i ran it past you guys first :w:

Thread: http://www.dubstepforum.com/science-fac ... 59900.html
MT EDEN DUBSTEP (DMZ/NZ)
Possibly the single most hyped Dubstep act EVER, Mt Eden Dubstep are quickly emerging as a force to be reckoned with in the local and international drum and bass and dubstep scenes. Like most DJ/ producers, Mt Eden started out with a passion for making remixes - Their breakthrough track Sierra Leone, a bootleg, has had an astounding 4.5million plays on you tube. Over time Mt Eden have developed their own distinctive style, with soulful vocals and massive bass lines, and these young producers from NZ are proving to be more than a flash in the pan - now releasing on Mala’s highly regarded DMZ imprint, and with the world in their sights - Mt Eden make their Australian debut at Science Faction before heading off to tour the US & Europe – proof that if you follow your passion, success will follow…

Sorry if I'm a bit dense, but is the error that they are signed to DMZ?

No, the error is the "dubstep" at the end of their name...

the original Aussie forum thread has been deleted as well - the plot thickens :o
The promoters were made aware by a comment posted on the event page- the comment was removed (right before being 'liked' by one of the event admins) and no information has been changed.

What was the response like from dubstep.au?

I almost hope it's true, this forum might implode if people have to choose between loving Mala/DMZ and hating Mt. Eden

It's complete fucking bullshit cause I'm well good friends with Kode9 and we went go-karting the other day and during a break he told me he'd just signed Mt Eden to Hyperdub. How could they be signed by DMZ if their on Hyper duhhhhhhhhhhhh.
