Re: Burial X Kode9 MAH mix
Kode9 reminds me of a spoiled drug dealer, the kind that doesn't appreciate his customers. lol
...but on a serious note I really enjoyed the mix, especially that Angel remix by X-Men.

Thought the mix was amazing. New Cooly G, Terror Danjah and Darkstar plus that Zomby tune i hadn't heard before, plus the incredible intro, plus some jungle then Silent Cry at the end! I don't get why everyones moaning, surely any good new music is good?
Listening to it at 3am added a lot too, made it that bit more special.

Re: Burial X Kode9 MAH mix
I've finally got round to it after a stupid few days. Gutted I couldn't have listened live, but the Burial/Kode9 mix is brilliant! Sonds absolutely fresh, varied, weird and wonderful to me. The Burial crackle isn't random or indiscriminate, it changes and is really well applied to make you listen to hear rhythms that might be more or less familiar sound completely alien... I dig it.
Very nice indeed to hear MAH give a big up to veryverymuch.com too

word. yeah, burial applies his white noise very effectively. it's not haphazard at all.joe muggs wrote:I've finally got round to it after a stupid few days. Yeah. I wouldn't call it white noise though. Bit more to it than just being noise.fractal wrote: word. yeah, burial applies his white noise very effectively. it's not haphazard at all.

Re: Burial X Kode9 MAH mix
and then there is of course the literal definition of white noise (full spectrum) which it doesnt fit either...Motorway to Roswell wrote:Yeah. I wouldn't call it white noise though. Edit:;;; whoops nevermind idk what im talking about coz according to wikipedia its only over a fixed range... i was confused because of the common "white light" analogy (white light being light with all visible wavelengths having equal intensity... apparently the catch is that its only visible colors....so i guess the point is that white noise could be the full audible spectrum or just a small segment of it...........For those that dont know coz i just found out)

The mix: I'd tried to stop myself thinking it was gonna be all new Burial stuff...but I couldn't. So...pre listening...I thought I was gonna be SO dissapointed if it wasn't that.
But...in actuality...this was completely not the case. It's fucking incredible.

Kode9 is fucking hilarious, you can call it ungrateful or whatever but I don't think he cares about the people that whine over the internet, he'd probably prefer it if they didn't buy the records and just fucked off! And I find that very funny.gantzgraf wrote:"with fans like them who needs enemies"

Oh, I wasn't trying to call it "just noise" I was referring to an old burial interview where he talks about his love for "white noise" such as the crackle and pops of records, water, fire, etc as use for texture.. I'll try to dig it up after work or tomorrow.Motorway to Roswell wrote:Yeah. I wouldn't call it white noise though. None of his examples are white noise though really, are they? Is there a thread with Burial interviews in? I've read the ones listed below.fractal wrote:Oh, I wasn't trying to call it "just noise" I was referring to an old burial interview where he talks about his love for "white noise" such as the crackle and pops of records, water, fire, etc as use for texture.. I don't mean white noise in the literal sense, I mean "background noise" I suppose, will look into my collection of interviews when I get home. Might have been the one incnic didMotorway to Roswell wrote:None of his examples are white noise though really, are they? Is there a thread with Burial interviews in?
