Someone needs to be very brave and attempt some Volta mixes. I've been playing around with Cicatriz ESP, but it's nowhere near a song yet.
LONG LIVE DA VOLTA!

what i was thinking is somehow edit down their last 3 attempts at albums into a half hour of what they should have waited to release lol. they desperately need a "filter" in the studio so they dont start new things and pay more attention to the better stuff. jeremy was probably that filter. even though he was dead by the time frances the mute was made, the album was kind of his ideaxx773xx wrote:...back when they were GREAT.

It definitely takes some guts to dare to be different. So many try and get nowhere. Mars Volta was one of the lucky few to make it while still being different. I definitely agree there last couple albums have really paled in comparison to previous works but that's not to say they were bad. Aside from Mars Volta I'm a huge fan of Coheed & Cambria as well. Sadly, these bands really don't get the love they deserve.

i dont think it takes guts, because thats just the way they are. it would take more effort for mars volta NOT to be crazy and out there. you can't fight your muse. if you go against its will you will make some seriously shitty music.JBE wrote:It definitely takes some guts to dare to be different.
