The 10th edition of Italy and Turkey’s Club to Club festival will see Kode9 play a set of new Burial material.
In a sequel of sorts to the Hyperdub boss’s mix of material from Burial’s landmark second album, Untrue, that preluded the album’s release in 2007, the set is billed as “Kode9 plays Burial – Exclusive European Debut”, and we presume will consist of material from Burial’s long-awaited third album, which is expected to land at some point next year.
Kode9 is also billed separately on the line-up, so we guess it’ll be one of two festival sets for the Scotsman. Elsewhere on the excellent looking bill for the festival, you’ll find Border Community boss James Holden, Caribou, Darkstar, Actress, Jamie XX, Jeff Mills (who’s presenting the European debut of “Something in the Sky”), Four Tet, Joy Orbison, Modeselektor, Luke Abbott, Oni Ahyun, Oneohtrix Point Never, Riva Starr, the Moritz Von Oswald Trio, Marcel Dettmann, Rob Hall, Shackleton, Shed, and a collaboration between electronic stalwarts Plaid and the Southbank Gamelan Players, a 12-piece orchestra.
Club to Club takes place from November 4 to 7 in Torino, and from November 3 to 5 in Istanbul, with previews in Milan (October 21 and 22) and Rome (October 2). For more information, ticket prices, etc, visit the Club to Club homepage. Keep it FACT for more Club to Club updates.

Thats the website to the festival, you can get tickets there. Try and use google's translator? It doesnt do the best translation but you can generally get the jist of it
Nah, its like Kode 9 did before the release of Untrue, he did a mix (on the radio i think?) of "unreleased burial tunes" then a few weeks after, Untrue dropped. So fingers crossed this is the same thing. He's billed on the line up as "Kode9 Plays Burial---European Exclusive" but he's also on the line up a 2nd time just as Kode9. So yeah, exciting stuff! Wish i could make it out there! weird that he's doing it thererinseballs21 wrote:that lineup is epic as fuck

Re: Kode9 plays ... Burial – Exclusive European Debut
thanks for the link to the club, will defo have a look asap at tickets etc.
Also excuse my ignorance, but im assuming the club to club festival will take place in a series of clubs accross torino, like the camden crawl?
And for anyone..... has Kode 9 dj'd in europe playing burial before as maybe he will just play a set of old burial stuff (which wld be sick) but i really wanna hear new stuff, and that would be the icing on the cake for this festival.
TBH i really wanna see Joy Orbison, shakleton and james blake live. am 60/40 gonna do this trip

Re: Kode9 plays ... Burial – Exclusive European Debut
The fact Kode9 is choosing to drop, supposedly new, burial tunes in a club festival situation is strange. Perhaps it gives us a clue to the vibes of the new burial work? 'Burial' and 'Untrue' were really tunes that you just got lost to, whether it be wandering in the dark at night or just in your room or whatever.
Maybe the new stuff is more upbeat?
Either way, i wish i could go but it's just no going to happen
Really excited about it all though, i hope that it really is what everyone thinks it will be, new material, and a 3rd album on the way.

Re: Kode9 plays ... Burial – Exclusive European Debut
I guess there is always that... But my heart is set on it being new material. I mean... He only does exclusive Burial sets when its something new. Fingers crossed. And yeah its across numerous clubs, wanna go SOOOOOO BAD, literally ive never seen such a desirable line upLC2 wrote:thanks for the link to the club, will defo have a look asap at tickets etc.

Re: Kode9 plays ... Burial – Exclusive European Debut
don't know if this has been mentioned, but on kode9's myspace there's a date 23rd october listed in london with a '?' under the location, same as with the listing for the italy show... maybe we're getting it too
Re: Kode9 plays ... Burial – Exclusive European Debut
I dont see why u wld premier burials stuff abroad first?, makes sense to have a london date too but it needs to be announced shortly.
Also from what I understand Burials new stuff is alot more uptempo than before but he apparently chops and changes over what he will release, so fuck knows

You have realised that the line up is in alphabetical order right?

Re: Kode9 plays ... Burial – Exclusive European Debut
I have heard this from different sources, no one like kode 9 but still ppl who are positioned to know more than me, and even then they probably r in the darkEtches828 wrote:HUZZAHHHHHHHHH!oscarhenson wrote:don't know if this has been mentioned, but on kode9's myspace there's a date 23rd october listed in london with a '?' under the location, same as with the listing for the italy show... maybe we're getting it too
