really good song... it only has a small dubstep section but you can do it if your quick

there is a drum and bass remix of collie budz - come around with a section of the original at the begining which makes it easy to transition

i saw nero on my birthday last year, aparently they played alternated drum and bass and dubstep every 3 songs, wish i could remember how they did it!

bpm crossing track thread

Post by prosthetics » Sun Sep 19, 2010 6:58 pm

Hello Everyone!
I'd like to start a thread about tracks that start off at a certain bpm rate and then speed up or slow down, temporarily or for the remainder of the track.
The goal is obvious, I need tracks like this to switch from dnb to dubstep or hiphop in my sets.
I'll post some to get us started:

dirtyphonic - quarks (dnb->dubstep->dnb)
noisia - machine gun (spor remix) (starts off at 128 or something then speeds up to 172)
akira kiteshi - machine (dubstep->dnb)
ed rush and optical - g force jesus (slows down at the middle)
spor (and others) - levitate (172-137-172)

can't think of more at the moment.

never heard this tune before. Just youtubed it. Wish I hadn't.

What fucking awful music that is...if you think that sounds good you need to hang up your headphones and get a new job.

My english teacher gave me a weird look when I mentioned that as the musical instrument I played. Like the wtf stare. I had to give her the 'wiki wiki' dj motion to confirm what i meant.

I need to get a new job apparently because what I hear and enjoy exactly correlates to what I do for a living.

nero - do you wanna, goes dub to dnb.

i also have been using a straight cut from camo & krooked - history of the future

Also if you do Hold on ---> to Subfocus remix at the first break you can get to dnb.

I find it hard to get from dnb to dubstep without ruining the vibe.

Anyone got good dnb to dubstep tunes besides Sick Tonight Doctor P remix

Big ups.

I have the exact same problem although because I dont have turntables at the moment, Im just using ableton to play out tracks, and my allen and heath to mix. The problem I have found with ableton is the project tempo. Im sure with serato, or something other than ableton I'd be able to mix half time dnb in the 80-90 bpm range with 170 bpm dnb fairly easily, or dubstep to dnb just using breakdowns, which is not the way I'd like to do it but do what ya gotta do right? But trying to speed up or slow down the project tempo smoothly in ableton hasnt sounded all too good to me. Basically is anyone doing this in ableton? I'd love to know how especially for those half time tracks
