DangerCo: Production wise I can't fault it, really clean and deep. Very minimal, but still dark. Excellent use of the stereo field, quality hits, nice atmos. Sounds like pots and pans for some of the hits. Your main bass hit kinda reminds me of the opening for "Exodus" by Noisia.

Yeah, top notch production.

ResetTheAtari wrote:@stealthelf I get the cheesy generic bass thing, I was specifically trying to make it sound more 'generic dubstep' than my usual stuff. Trying to be different with every tune is getting me nowhere? Working on synthising a much dirtier bass on my next tune tho.
Don't get me wrong though dude. Great track overall! Looking forward to hearing your next one.

@EDN - As soon as this hit my speakers I was like "oh yes!" Great work in this tune. Really reminds me of 'ghost' if you've heard of him? Would be well popular round the area that I live. Excellent atmosphere and nice sounds throughout. Nice melodies, everything is properly prime really :D only crit would be that the kick and snare could do with some work. Need to be snappier and more prominent in the track for this kinda music really.

@Danger Co - Nice atmosphere and good drum work. Not sure I'm really feeling the track overall though. Dunno what it is exactly. Think I would go nuts for it on a big system but listening on my hi-fi at home it's a bit too sparse. Not enough melody to keep me interested. High point of the track for me is the bongo-esque percussion. Tasty :p Really good work on all the little incidental and atmospheric noises that keep it flowing.

You've literally made my year :D . He's my favourite producer of all time basically, and thats my first proper attempt at a tune like that (obviously nowhere near as good as him because he's shit hot) but for you to even liken me to him has made me grin like a maniac.
Yeah it still need's a proper mix down and a master, I kinda threw that version together for an application to uni and haven't got around to quite finishing it off yet.

@badboybastian: love the production on this, complex and interesting. the sample is well done but i wish she would stop saying bang so much after a while. some of the basses dont flow too much together but i kinda dont mind too much... haha

@ledend4ry: a really nice relaxing vibe... the strings sound great with that piano. i dont know about the breakdown in the middle, i tend to think something else should come in which would lead into the verse again but maybe im wrong. i would also like to hear some more snare variations with more reverb and delays come in randomly. but honestly i like this a lot, which i would make music this pretty.

@spectum1: sick! reminds me of liquid stranger or something with robots eating each other. i think it could be cool if you fucked with the sweeps and impacts a bit more, sounds kinda like there right outta the box but who am i to say. obviously great production though, good use of your plugins. what do you use? i can imagine this sound raise chaos in a club

was previously here under different name...

@paravrais very interesting unique sound you got flowing. all the sounds seem to compliment each other. type of stuff i love to have for late night beach excursions

@BadBoyBastian3B nice work on the vocals. felt like it needs something to fill the lower registers. more bass!

@balthazarely you make me not want to post my track. damn, that was well-done. awesome production and flow. nicely mastered. sick sounds.

here's my newest track:

Thanks alot man, most of the sounds in here were made in massive (lol big suprise) but resampled like crazy, I use alot of freeware effect plugins. Also havent really had a chance to play it out or hear it in a club as I'm only 16 and alot of the raves and stuff around here are in bars and 19+ clubs :(

Your track is really cool, like the melodic bassline, and really clear sound, but when it drops it gets very muddy, definetley take the reverb or whatever you got going on on your bass and play with stereo enhacing and dimension expanders/chorus to get a fuller sound instead of relying on reverb for it. Or at least put a low cut on the reverb so its not reverberating all the low freqs as well and muddying everything up.

Anyone else wanna take a listen, tell me what you think!

@ Dissent: nice vocoder synth, it really compliments your other bass. i like the rhythm a lot,it's interesting and fun, but i think it could be really cool if you changed it up, maybe to a 4/4 style beat at some point. but then again, i'm just into songs that have completely different sections, so that's only my opinion.

@ Danger Co: it's damn refreshing to hear a song that doesn't rely on a massive bass. i do love big bass, and yours are large, but i really like the dark atmosphere you create and the fact that every hit seems to have a purpose. very good use of percussion and samples at the right times.

@ Paravrais: i'd say you're sure as hell good at atmosphere. i might be wrong on exactly what you're doing with the bells, but i think you've split it into two channels and put a little slower attack on the left one? whatever it is, it sounds incredibly interesting. the birds chirping is also a very nice touch, and it's subtle enough that it doesn't at all distract.

Ok, so this is what i consider the best song i've created in my whole 3 months (ages, right?) of production. it's slow, and it sure as hell isn't as professional as a lot of your guys stuff, but i'd love to hear anything back that you can think of.

be brutal, as long as you give me an idea how to fix it. :)

@ Dissent - Not normally my kind of style but I'm liking the melodies you got going in this. Your mixdown needs quite a lot of work though I would say and your snare sounds pretty weak. Good song construction but the production quality is lacking basically, bring that up to the same level as your song writing and ditch the formant sounds and your onto a winner.

@ Johnst - Cheers for the feedback but your link is broken dude!

Yeah it is, I like all the atmospheric stuff and the keys etc, sounding good. The production quality leaves a lot to be desired though which is more than understandable at your stage. The main wobble and the drums need the most work done to them, sounding very basic at the moment. Keep at it though dude, your still in the very early stages here and it's sounding good for how long you've been producing for. There's a long road ahead of you though ;)

@BadBoyBastian3B: thats some sick tune you got there, nice snares also reminds me a bit of redlight, keep it up man!

@spectrum1: Really liking that robotic dark intro leading to the gritty bassline, Not really my type of dubstep though to be honest, but none of the less its good

@Johnst Thanks for your feedback
Your doing really well for 3mths, keep it up. I thought the start sounded really good and then it took off somewhere else a bit cheesy. I'd work on keeping the melodies tight and not to extravagent. The mix needs attention you got a bit of panning going but sounds very mid range and narrow, must open up the freqs. Decent drop but I found some of the transitions a bit clunky. All in all top effort.

@Balthazarely Smooth intro - nice cuts. Dirty shit bro. Hot bass, great movement going on there. Loved the broad mix, made a good headphone expirience. Transitions were all class and chest shaking drops very Reso imo.

@Spectrum Dark bro love the hats around 20s and boy the drop, I'm in a different league out here ;) Really like the way you switch up the drops/trans. Nice juicy mix, very rich. Stormer tune.

If you do have a listen could you listen out for any high pitched noise/saturation on the sub? Not sure if its me or SC compression, could it be my limiter?
