Meh, feel for Mt Eden a bit as BBK ultimatly has been quite a big label over the years (more so in dnb) so securing a release with them has got to be a real boost.
As much as I dont rate their production at the end of the day they are producers trying to do there thing in a heavily critical and flash in the pan scene (in terms of styles).

I say roll with the punches and endever to push your skills to the next level, got enough respect for ANY producer no matter their ability or style

It probably says that they are really fucking gutted.

Its not like Adam F & Fresh didnt even hear the remix and decided to include it in the release, they obviously liked something about it, but due to places such as DSF etc they pulled it as there is alot of negativity surrounding the name Mt. Eden. (This is all conjecture, I dont know the actual reason for the pull but this seems the most obvious)

Like I said before, granted their production might not be up to scratch or whatever, but they are a name which is recognised and they are striving to produce music. For which I have respect for whether I like their tunes/production/style or not.
Wholeheartedly feel a bit sorry for them, considering they are trying to achieve their goals and ambitions and reach negativity on every front, gotta get boring after a while. Hopefully they will take a positive out of it and strive to be better.

After getting a 1/10 or whatever it was for their dead prez remix, releasing Mt Eden straight after isn't going to do them any favours lololol

:z:

i reckon they probably got signed up because of the amount of youtube hits and when they actually listened to their tracks and saw the rep in the scene they got dropped.

and i dont see how anything so far makes them any more producers than me making a mashup in ableton

i am making my own tunes now but in 2006 i wasnt dubstep wise and wouldnt have dared call my ableton combinations my own productions even though sometimes things were edited a lot

maybe it's time for a name change.

oh and now that i think of it, it's not mt eden i hate, it's their fans. the fact that they're so protective with their "y'all haters!!11"-attitude.
there's nothing bad about making shit tunes right? poor mt eden

yeah but they're not really producing their own content, just rehashing other peoples stuff.

Kinda gutted for them to be honest. It's not exactly their fault that they have found popularity amongst aggravated teens.

they should have thought of that before stealing other peoples tunes and mixing them down.

Good riddance, and yeah I already didn'th old Fresh in high regard and whole this episode has not improved that.

Creating remixes doesnt write you off as a producer, allows you to create your own interpretation, that being said none of us know to what extent they create these remixes. If its in a sorta "Mash up" style then I would tend to agree with you that it is a rehash, however who knows.

Is pretty circular really, just hope they can learn from their experience in the scene so far and turn any negativity into a positive tool in the studio. They have the popularity (all be it to a seggregated part of the dubstep scene), thats the hard part, they now just need to deliver.
Dont forget they are not aiming tunes are you or me or DSF, there audience is different and they know that, and if that audience enjoy it then they are winning.

Is a shame really, if they put out a really great original track it will get shunned still, such a stigma attached to the name, I think it will be difficult to make waves.

Im certainly interested to see where they are a few years down the line though
