Ask to speak to their manager...... they're never around

Or just do heavy breathing.

i always used to say just one minute, put the phone next to the tv/stereo, go back to what I was doing for five minutes, then pick up the phone. as i recall, almost all of them waited :D they were also the ones bitterly disappointed when i'd tell them that my dad wasn't it. no one seems to call these days though 8)

My mate had someone ring him up on his mobile from one of those company's that buy old gold, and asked for him name. My mate goes "How the fuck do you know my name, and why are you trying to take my gold?!" before hanging up on them

Yeah, they're annoying, but they're only trying to get by, just like you.
you should watch repo men. either version. they're both about how having a shitty job doesn't make you exempt from karma.

Why are people so mean to them? Don't be a tnuc. Sure, they shouldn't be calling you at home, but it's their job and you don't have to be rude to them.

I usually just say 'No thanks' and then put the phone down.

No it isn't!
I don't just hang up on them, I keep saying no thanks until they say 'ok, thank you for your time'
