Down boy.

I just think everyone's entitled to their own opinion of whether a given night lived up to their expectations. Not everyone likes every type of music after all.

that's the fault of your preconceptions and nothing else. they can play whatever they want to at their night. if you don't like it then don't go again but i for one think that it's nothing but a good thing to be pushing different sounds

what are you talking about? dmz didn't even properly announce a line up let alone advertise itself as deeper dubstep vibes

it was my first time and whenever people talk about it, they always act like its where the purest dubstep gets played, not the dmz gang themselves.
i didnt get what i expected but i thought it was good night

Was there a million wheel ups this time round? >Love the DMZ but the wheel upon wheels can get annoying during the headliner sets. Gutted i messed this one; big Jay 5ive fan so would have loved to see him B2B with the Quest

DMZ have never stated that they push dubstep, it is fortunate that artists like mala loefah and coki share their tunes with this so called bubble of a dubstep world

These lot have been pushing through new sounds for 5 years now, and people who decide to jump on the bandwagon now come onto dubstep forum and moan about a night having some diversity, In my opnion fucking fair play for playing something different in their set. Wouldnt you be bored of playing the same tunes for atleast 5 years running all at the same tempo and time signatures?

And the godfathers for the electronic music followers should carry on their push for fresh new sounds to tantalise our ears with
:z:
The rave is called dmz.
therefore you expect the members (and affiliate) of dmz
to play music
that is of
or similar to that which is on the dmz label
and they do.

dont know why people would think differently unless they dont know about how dmz nights go down.

i get that you expect them to play the fundamental stuff and the rave to have that vibe...

but come on man, you tryna tell me you didnt hear any proper hard dubstep? not from tunnidge? not from mala? not from quest & jay 5ive?

that was there and then some. give these guys a break, just cos you didnt get a "normal dmz" all night you see it as a disadvantage to your night.
you must have not read the whole post, i did say "there was no suprise cokis set was mental, and malas was respectable", and they were so because they preached the dmz sound live infront of us, thats what we expect to hear from the 3 ledgends

i did and basically i gathered that you werent feeling the fact that loefah didnt play any of his known tunes or the style he is known for...

i get it does feel annoying that you aint getting what you expected and not enjoying what is being played, but in the end i suppose thats just one of the freedoms an artists will have. if they wish to play different kinds of music and not stick to the same style then thats their choice, regardless of the rave.

also if you had herd loefahs recent sets and the one he played in outlook then you would of known what to expect. i did, and it was one of the main reasons i went tbh.

Loefah has played nothing but the kind of stuff he played at DMZ for the majority of 2010

trains are pretty fucked on the weekends tho, so if the line aint workin it might take twice as long to get there and worse getting back. doesnt really make you wanna go but then i suppose it is worth it for a dmz.

i went to my first dmz on my 1s and it was still sick, trains were fucked on the way back but still worth it. It is effort though I agree, and havent done it again since.
