and let's not forget £9 for Burnin'. I was kinda half-hoping because it';s the "official" online retailer that the extra money'd go straight to Coki...Grievous Angel wrote: They can't get the rinse stream working reliably. They can't get dubplate.net working as well as it should be, given the frequent reports here of failed orders (and the product selection and site design leaves much to be desired). If they could launch something ten times better than BareFiles then it may not be as offensive, but I'm not sure they can.

this is absolutely disgraceful behaviour imo
but i think the warning signs have been there for a while...
fwd goes from £5 to £7 (bullshit about it being because they moved from thursday to friday, 'cos i distinctly remember paying a fiver on several fridays...pure greed imo)
certain well known dubstep dj refuse to play at fwd at all...couldn't undersatnd why at the time, but it all seems to make sense now...
and only just recently, sarah at ammunition chargin £9 for ''burnin', when i pretty sure coki recieved little more than £3-4 per unit...
imo this is pure greed, and to an extent quite callous as it kinda takes advantage of quite a naive and trusting community. having said that, she is a business woman, running her business, trying to take advantage of the financial potential of the dubstep scene and trying to maximize her profits ect...but personaly i think the way in which they (ammunition, not to direct it all personally at sarah) are persuing these goals isn't necessarily the best way to go about it, and in essence, will not only be detremental to them as an organisation, but to the scene as a whole...
i'm particularly refering to their barefiles decision here, and treatment of deapoh in general...proper case of biting the hand that feeds if ever i saw one.
Big up Deapoh for all your hard work, and for sharing this info with us all...you're a LEDGE.

hey Deapoh,
my friend works for http://www.openrightsgroup.org
They helped me out when the BPI came knocking @ themixingbowl.org
we defeated the government lobbing organisation and havnt heard from them since.
Ive asked my friend for any advise to help you out mate, coz barefiles is excellent and needs to be back in its full glory. Ive been in a simliar situation and rec'vd so much legal advise.
So give it a few days. fingers crossed.

ammunition own tempa and thus presumably own some of the copyrights to tempa tunes. so they can take deapoh for copyright infringement on any of the tempa tunes in any given show. remember, they can hide behind the online broadcasting thing. when was the last time you heard them advertising the frequency?ozols man wrote:what i dont understand is, if the broadcasting is illegal and therefore can be protected by the law, what exactly can rinse et al do to deapoh??
if you own the copyright, you can do anything with it. you can sue someone for listening to the tunes while taking a shit if that's how you've licensed it to them. there are some small exceptions, and you wouldn't exactly get a huge amount of damages if you took someone for listening to your tunes on the crapper when you'd told them not to, but that's the letter of the law.
the 'clean hands' principle might have anything thrown out of court on the basis of ammunition's involvement with the broadcasting, but law isn't about who's right, it's about who's got more cash to throw at lawyers.
For it to be 10x better than Barefiles, I'd expect nothing less than a full sound system in my front room, N-Type on the decks, Skream with the stellas, Mala with the draw and Crazy on the mic. For free. If for some reason they can't provide this, then fuck off and let Deeps do itGrievous Angel wrote: If they could launch something ten times better than BareFiles then it may not be as offensive, but I'm not sure they can.
its a fuckin joke so much politics within dubstep already this is 1 of the many reasons im starting to hate dubstep and music in general bout time peeps see wots realy goin on in scene its not all sweetness & light defos no dubstep love here

oh absolutely, i'd like to think so too...I dunno, seems to me that sarah and geeneus are the decision makers here? A lot of really safe people work for Ammunition, I'd like to think they weren't so fully involved.
but with a decision like this, i'd imagine they'd have to run it through with the other ammunition heads and get their approval...
but i dunno, without all the relevant info we can't really say...
would hate to think this was the general stance taken by ammunition as a whole tho for sure.
Sarah and Gee made the decisions about Barefiles. No one else was involved and the others that work for Ammo I have a lot of respect for.Tappy Tippon wrote:oh absolutely, i'd like to think so too...I dunno, seems to me that sarah and geeneus are the decision makers here? Big up 2 depoah 2 cuming out with his feelings and expressing the side 2 what happend 2 bare files.
You have blatantly helped push the scene by a massive persentage!!!!!!Without a doubt,my name and the rest ov anti social's name wouldnt be as exposed without barefiles aswell as rinse.
But ima be real tho, this aint got nuthing 2 do wid u deaps
But im see'ing people say they aint gonna lock on 2 rinse anymore
Fair
Cool
But.........
What has Quite Storm or Distance Or Skream, Or Scientist Or Me or the rest ov the rinse dubstep dj's done 2 any1. The managment are own the own side and we are on another, all we can do is play the beats on the station that is no.1 for this music. The dj's need all the support they can get, we wanna get the music heard, i dont feel we should suffer becuase ov polotics, that aint right ina certian way and i feel no way 2 say it because i know me and the rest ov the dubstep dj's inda scene aint done nufin 2 no1
Agree or do we have 2 feel pain 2??
This scence is supposed to be ONE BIG FAMILY, ov course there will be polotics but the people that PLAY the music are the MOST innocent!!!!
Once again, this is not somthing against with what depoah said at first, its just that im see'ing people say they aint gonna listen 2 rinse anymore, u dont hear the managment on the decks do ya.
We love you guys!
Cyaam On!

Big Up!

And we love the DJs. But this is a decision that seems (I'm sure there's other sides to this debate) to be REALLY suspect.DJ Heny.G wrote: We love you guys!

Sorry, but if the bosses of the dj's are taking the piss, the djs are welcome to say something.
This community's WAY too small to pretend shit like this isn't happening.

I'm still going to be listening to the music... but the problem is how to let management know the people aren't happy with how they're handling things. The most direct way, other than people expressing themselves on places like this which they blatently read if they're keeping an eye on things, is to stop buying their products and stop using their services. It's really difficult though, as they are pushing music we love... the music shouldn't have to suffer for politics

Personally I'll be listening to rinse, and I'll be listening to recordings which I'm more than happy to make myself, but I won't be using their podcast services.

henys got a fair point... everyone is kind of jumping on the band wagon of hate, fuck not buying anymore tempa records for example, they got a fucking mint catalogue! still what is going on is a bit shitty though, but fuck it, business is business, the world is ruled by the tyrany of evil men and all that
